Mmkay, I've been waiting for someone to bring this up, and I'm glad you're of the same opinion I am. As far as Movie-Punishers go, this was by far, the most accurate to the comics. I think Ray Stevenson was the best Castle they could find, Wayne Knight was a good Micro, etc. Unfortunately, it doesn't change the fact that, as far as Movies go, this one was really, really bad. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, it just means that by movie standards, this one was doomed from opening night.

I often say to my friends (also Punisher fans) that it almost seems like Ray Stevenson was the only person taking his role in the movie seriously. If more people involved had tried to make it a more serious crime drama, I think it could have done very well, as I think many people can relate to one side of the Punisher debate (a veiled allegory for the Capital Punishment Debate) or another, which makes him and interesting character to large audiences.

Unfortunately, I predict that War Zone will not be getting a sequel, if only because it made Fanboys squeal, but no one else.

And that's my two cents.
