Character: Char How Deep?: Char has a dazzling talent for avoidance and suppression when it comes to a select few issues, but has very poor impulse control, so I imagine he isn't that good at hiding his feelings. Even so, he's very reluctant to let people know anything about him beyond "one-dimensional troublemaking punk". Char's probably not that hard to read, but his secrets are very important to him; I'd prefer if most of the more sensitive things Euphie digs up don't get shared with Red and pals.
Skimming -- If Euphie is around, Char is probably thinking about kicking her. Not so much hate as anxiety: If I don't make sure that I am better than Red's Pokemon, Green won't be better than Red, and thus I have let Green down. These Pokemon are a reminder of my failures. They're looking down on me. Not so much in those exact words, but that's the general feeling. He tries really hard to focus on thoughts about hurting Red team when Euphie's around -- he's not sure if that stops a psychic-type from seeing what's in his head, but he can hope.
If he's distracted or not aware Euphie's around, his thought patterns are pretty primitive. He's generally ruled by his basic Charizard instincts: defend territory, defy those who try challenge his position, fight strong opponents, protect important people, eat, sleep. Usually, the less he's thinking, the happier he is.
When he really starts thinking, it just leads to a lot of guilt, self-resentment, anxiety, insecurity, and doubt, and those will turn into misdirected anger 99.9% of the time. Dude's got a lot of baggage, and he tends to feel constantly threatened as a result. The emotion behind it is blatantly obvious, but Char himself usually isn't aware why he acts the way he does. He's quite content to just wave around the "instigator" banner people labelled him with when he first showed up.
Surface Memory -- Football practice, whatever clever and wonderful thing his beloved Skulltula Rasputin did, who he's gonna beat up next.
A lot of Green Team. What Nyx wore that day (her legs looked great), how weird it is to be taller than her, how her skin is always so cold, remembering her scent, would she like it if he went out and caught some prey for her? Lots of stuff about Bulba too.
SO MUCH GREEN. ALL OVER. He asks himself "What would Green want me to do?" more often than you'd think. "Be a smartassed dick and get in trouble all the time" probably isn't the right answer, but he tries.
Deep Memory -- The earliest Euphie could probably get at is the memory of a runty Charmeleon hanging out on Route 10 -- always hungry, lonely and pissed -- and stealing food from trainers to get by. More recently: Char has no memory of his most recent evolution, but he remembers waking up.
Also: all the times Green's backed out of a promise, left them waiting here, or looked at Char with disappointment is carefully filed away here, ready to pop up at the most inconvenient times. The fact that he still keeps dwelling on them is what makes this so secret; he ought to know better, he doesn't deserve Green if he can't even trust the guy, etc.
The one thing Euphie'd probably find hardest to get at is a single word: Kerosene. It's not easy to glean much from that, but it carries a whole lot of heavy, hurtful emotions. One gets the sense that rather than being just an independent word, it's acting more like a lid, pressing down on something secret and painful and tightly sealed away.
What Will She See?: Char doesn't think so much as feel -- it's really not a conscious "I would like to hit you", just ANGER. A moldy banana could follow his train of thought.
Landscaping: Bears a vague, superficial resemblance to Route 10. Rocky and mountainous, with a peak extending far out of sight. The rock's carved full of claw marks, like someone tried climbing it and failed. Rusted, bent, and broken bits of chain link fence sticking irregularly out of the ground here and there. There's a Rock Tunnel -- though it's hard to say just how far it goes, considering how pitch-black Rock Tunnel is. Consistently overcast, with occasional rumbles of thunder and lightning, though it never actually rains.
