[Kara was in the kitchen, working on baking some cookies, because she'd be damned if she let some shadow get to her.]

[Emille rapped her knuckles against the door twice before entering, poking her head through the opening.]

"'Ey, Kara."

[After closing the door behind her, her eyes scanned the place, wondering exactly what a sentient shadow actually looked like, anyway...]

"Hey, you're just in time, the cookies are almost done."

[The shadow flickered up onto the counter and then moved back down to swarm about Kara's legs. There were burn marks on a few of the walls where she had tried to kill the shadow with her heat vision.]

"Ooh. Could use a snack, actually."

[She only barely caught the glimpse of shadow on the counter, but the burn marks were really hard to miss.]

"Took a few potshots, I take it?"

[Kara opened the oven and took out the cookie sheet, bare handed, and set it down on the stove.]

"Generally when I start to hear voices telling me bad things, I try and keep busy."

"No luck hittin' it, huh?"

[She tries not to tell Kara "Watch out!" when the girl reaches into the oven bare-handed, quickly saved by a reminder as to exactly what Kara's capable of. Like, well, the heat vision.]

"Not a bad way to go. Maybe I should learn to cook, make that my hobby."

"Oh, I don't really cook. I just bake a few things I picked up from watching Ma' Kent."

[Kara stood back a ways a bit and blew softly on the cookies.]

"There, all cooled down!"

"Well... Maybe my cookin' will be a good excuse for you to bake more often, meanin' more of one comin' over to see the other."

[Emille walks over and fully into the kitchen, peering at the cookies as they get a bit of rapid cool-down. She eyes Kara just briefly as she states they're all cooled off, and takes one.]

"Huh... So permanently minty-cool breath, too?"

[She smirks as she bites into the cookie.]
