[Zell STARES at his double, his eyes getting visibly wider and wider]
... This is so freaking weird.
Yeah, I know what's going on. Somewhat. Kind of. If you don't think I'm an evil doppelganger and try to kill me, I'll explain, although I really wouldn't blame you if you did.
[Zell raises his hands] Look, I can't blame you for thinking that. But it's not, I swear.
This is some kind of... pocket dimension, I guess would be the best way of putting it. We have a collection here of people from a bunch of different worlds and even different versions of reality. That's why, uh, I'm you. Except I'm not. There's other people around here that have alternate versions of themselves.
[Has no idea what to say to himself, except...] So, since you're me, basically, I'm assuming that food sounds good? I could explain more over lunch. If you trust me. Which you probably don't, because this is pretty much off the weirdness factor scale.
So you're me . . . but not me? Right, that makes a whole lot of sense.
I guess? I'm starting to think I'm still in the stronghold and everything up until now's been just one big illusion. In which case lunch with myself probably isn't gonna make much difference. [stomach rumbles at the mention of food, making him flush a bit]
We're alternates of each other. Something about our histories is different, from what I've gathered. And no, it doesn't make any sense at all. It might if I knew anything about advanced physics.
No, don't think that! [waves hands around spastically] This isn't an illusion, as much as some people here wish it was.
Right, then! Food. I'll buy, because they don't take gil here.
Yep. I don't know, but coming up to approximately knee-high on her made the entire fight a little surreal. Especially with Rinoa stuffed in her shirt.
...So, how old are you? Have you defeated Ultimecia?
I don't think physics have anything to do with this.
So I'm in some kind of not-Template where everything's switched around and I have a double. Sorry if I don't really believe you, but the illusion thing actually makes more sense right now.
Gil? What about Euros?
You fought Adel?! How?
. . . We beat her almost three months ago, if this isn't an illusion. And I'm 18.
I don't know. We don't have a stronghold with illusions where I come from.
Yeah, it's pretty much our worldwide currency. Some places use their traditional currency still, but gil is accepted everywhere. I hear you.
Huh. Adel caused the Sorceress war which ended up killing my parents, then she was captured and shot out into space. Then Ultimecia brought her down again and we had to fight her.
I was 17 during the whole war against Ultimecia. I just turned 18. In this place, actually.
In the future, in her whacked-out castle. Wow, our backgrounds aren't similar at all, are they? My parents were civilian casualties of the first Sorceress War. I think. I don't really remember.
Yeah, I guess she did. Those were a fun few months.
... Hey, if Adel wasn't floating around in space, that means you guys had radio signals working!
Yeah, we did, and it still gives me headaches when I try to figure out the paradoxes that caused.
...Digital level? You mean you had one on your world, too? We didn't. Don't. And with no radio signals, things got pretty sticky, communications-wise.
So, ah, people are probably going to think you're me for a while. Just to bring you up to date, my world's Selphie is here, and an Irvine is here too. But I don't think he's from my reality OR yours. Then there's Sam. He's HUGE, but nice.
Oh yeah, my roommate might mix us up for a bit too. White hair, really big sword, red trench coat. He's hard to miss.
No kidding. That'd sure give me headaches. Which, uh, I guess makes sense.
Digital level and the spiritual level. We had communications problems too, when Edea and Ultimecia started jamming up the digital level. It got really bad during that last big battle with Galbadia.
Yeah, I ran into your Selphie already. So then where's Irvine from, if he's not from either of our worlds?
It does. I think I'm starting to get a headache now, actually.
It sounds like you have a hell of a lot of stories to tell. [beams] You'll have to tell me all about how things went down in your world.
Selphie's great. Of course you know that already, but she really is. If you ever need anything, she'll help you out. So will I, for that matter.
...I really don't know where Irvine comes from. [shrugs] Yet another version of our reality, I guess.
Uh, judging by the look on your face, that didn't go too smoothly. Try not to be too hard on him, okay? He's still getting used to living closely with humans, and it means he seems kinda erratic sometimes.
... This is so freaking weird.

. . . This has got to be some kind of crazy sorceress trick.

...Except maybe for Adel.

What about Adel? You mean the sorceress, right?

Why an illusion like this, then? I mean, what's the point?
...Huh, never heard of Euros. I'll have to check.
Uh, the regular way? [Has no idea what is causing his doubles confusion] What, did you not or something?
Three months, huh? Bit of a different timeline if you're already 18. So am I, by the way.
[ooc: It's been a very long time since I've played that part of the game, so correct me if it was impossible for Zell to be in that fight.]

So you use gil in . . . wherever you come from? This is so weird.
Adel was around when I was just a little kid. We didn't hear about her until after she was already dead.
What do you mean, "already"?
((Nope nope! I finally finished up AU!Zell's history. Adel was before his time in his world.))

Sounds the same as ours, just with a different name.
. . . My parents were killed in an accident. Adel was killed by Ultimecia before she was able to do any real damage to Template.
Guess she got busy early in your world, huh?

Yeah, I guess she did. Those were a fun few months.

Yeah, we do. Everyone just uses the digital level, though, since it's easier and doesn't get as much interference.

Sure! You know somewhere to eat? I recognize some parts of the city, but they're all in the wrong place. I think I'm gonna be lost for a while.
Do you know somewhere I could sleep? Squ--Leon said something about cards.
. . . This place is crazy. And I've seen a lot of crazy, but this is a whole new special kind of crazy.
If by erratic you mean "a total bastard", sure. And--wait. He's not human?
((RIGHT SO I SHOULD PROBABLY GO SLEEP NOW. >_> *DOES SO*))
