Title: What Are Friends For?
Author: Nat, a.k.a.
pumpthevolumeFandom: Arashi
Starring: Sakurai Sho and Aiba Masaki (NOT a pairing)
Rating: G
Author’s Note: I promised Sarah-oneechan (
cerraazizi) a SakurAiba fic a while ago, and only remembered just now. Since I’m not sleepy, even though it’s half-past midnight, I decided to write one. It's way too short and sucks, I know.
Sho was having a terrible day. When he got up, he realised that his alarm clock had been broken, so he was late for the “Step and Go” rehearsal. When he got out of the cab, he later remembered leaving his wallet on the seat. And now he couldn’t get the timing of his rap right.
“Gomenasai…” he said again, bowing to the other members.
“You better get it right soon,” MatsuJun said threateningly. “I’ve got lots of other things to do, y’know.”
“Yeah,” Nino agreed. “My DS is lacking attention…”
“Since I’m the leader,” Ohno spoke up, “I have the authority to fire you!”
Sho blanched. “Riida, are you serious?”
Ohno chuckled.
“Come on, Sho-chan.” Aiba grinned. “I know you can do it!”
After a few more tries, Sho had perfected the rap segment.
“Well done!” Aiba cheered.
“Guess you can still be a part of Arashi, ne?” Ohno nodded wisely.
“Finally…” MatsuJun rolled his eyes up to the heavens.
“Mm.” Nino muttered, already engrossed in a video game.
“Guys, let’s all go out for dinner!” Aiba suggested. “We haven’t done something together in ages!”
“Well… I guess I can fit that in,” MatsuJun shrugged.
“Yeah, me too…” Nino said, fingers jabbing buttons expertly.
Ohno and Sho nodded.
Two hours later, Arashi had finished eating and the bill arrived.
“SHO-KUN HAS TO PAY.” said Ohno is his Riida voice.
“What?!” Sho’s eyes widened.
“Yeah, since you messed up so much today.” Nino folded his arms.
“Argh… But I lost my wallet in the taxi…” Sho bashed his head onto the table.
“Guys, let him off…” Aiba waved his hands at the other members.
“No can do, Aiba-kun.” MatsuJun shook his head firmly. “He’ll just have to pay us back tomorrow.”
“It’s okay, Aiba…” Sho mumbled. “You tried. I guess I deserve it, ne?”
Aiba frowned.
The rest of Arashi split the bill and left, each returning to their respective homes. All except Aiba.
Aiba Masaki got his phone out of his pocket. He selected the GPS application and typed in “taxi depot”.
The next day, Sho woke up and opened the door to get the newpaper. On top of it, however, was a black leather wallet. HIS wallet. When he opened it to check the contents, a note fluttered to the ground. Sho picked it up. “What are friends for?” it read.
Later, he met up with Arashi again for the CD jacket photoshoot.
“Guys, I found my wallet! I can pay you back now!” he announced happily.
“What are you talking about?” Nino asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Have you got amnesia?” Ohno joined in.
“Yeah,” MatsuJun said. “you left us each an envelope of money in our letterboxes.”
“What…?” Sho said to himself, confused. “Who left them cash?”
He looked up to see Aiba, yawning and with dark shadows under his eyes, give him a thumbs-up.
