Ep. 66: charamassu and countdown stories

Tegomass started the show by saying Happy New Year again to Aracchi x)
Massu: Well this is the 4th show of this year but actually this is our first time meeting this year.
Aracchi said that she saw Massu's current hairstyle on TV (I guess it refers to his hair during JCD)
Massu: Really? Actually I look really charai* with this hair.
Tegoshi & Aracchi: (laughs)
Tegoshi: Indeed, unexpectedly it looks charai on you!
Massu: I think I'll change my hair then.. But I used to be more charai in the past.
Tegoshi: Ah, your sideburns were long, right? You were so charai on Gachibaka!
Tegoshi then said that black hair seems popular again now.. And Massu kept saying that he'll need to change his hairstyle in order to move on from his dorama character.
Tegoshi: But you look good that way, Charamassu! Charamassu for 2013! (laughs)

Massu said that after done with the countdown, he went to the shrine (hatsumode, probably with other Johnny's talents) and then slept all day.
Massu: I spent my new year at home eating mochi. And this year I want to shape my body, so right now I always go to the gym.
Tegoshi: That's great!
Massu: But actually I was really relaxing in the beginning of the year.
Tegoshi said that he went on a trip to watch the Hakone Ekiden*
Massu: Eeh? But that's something I watch on TV while eating orange on my kotatsu! (lol)
Tegoshi: They are really fast! And I really jealous to see them running and making the most of their youth.. That kind of feeling.
Massu: They're younger than us right.. When I see them running like that, I realized the age (gap) and touched, I feel like crying..
Tegoshi & Aracchi: (laughs)
Tegoshi: I feel you!

Massu: Aracchi how about you, any crying moment lately?
Aracchi: Yes, there was...

Aracchi said that she spent her first day in 2013 by eating yakiniku and bowling.
Apparently, Tegoshi went snowboarding to Niigata and said it was fun, while Massu said that snowboarding is a must-do sport for every man.
Aracchi: Seems like your two other 'teammates' went to Hawaii for a vacation and interviewed on TV..
Tegoshi: Heeee!? Really?
Massu: I didn't watch it..
Tegoshi: They went to Hawaii? That sounds awesome!
Massu: Because of that news report, some people thought that I went to Hawaii too, they thought we all went there for work..
Tegoshi said that he won't go to Hawaii on winter holiday or summer since it will be packed.
They then praised Koyashige x)
Massu: Both of them are very close.
Tegoshi: They are. They also kissed some times ago.
Aracchi: Eeeh?!
Tegoshi: (laughs) I lied, I lied! They won't do that thing!
Aracchi: (laughs) I was shocked just now..
Massu: (stay calm lol) I see..
A fan named Miu-san sent a mail requesting for Sotsugyo Album. She was very touched when she saw them singing that song last year on their Mahou tour. And since now she's on the 12th grade, the song encourages her to keep doing her best at school before graduating.
Tegoshi: The graduation season is getting closer..
Massu: Ah, like if you're an university student, this is the time when you don't really have any class to attend, like that?
Tegoshi: Yes yes yes..
Massu: I don't really understand that feeling though..
Tegoshi: Honestly I haven't been to campus for four years, so I don't understand too.. *
Massu: Ah, sorry sorry..
*he talked really fast here, I hope I didn't misheard. But anyone knows the state of Tegoshi's education now? x)
Tegoshi said he cried when on his graduation day (middle and high school), especially the moment they had to sing the song Aogeba Totoshi and Hotaru no Hikari.
Tegoshi: When I remember how my Mom wake up earlier and prepared my bento, and also wake me up when I didn't want to go to school, the tears came out naturally. But graduation is a nice moment too, it's a start for a new journey.
Massu: I see.. And it's kind of strange feeling when you have to be separated from your friends?
And Massu suddenly have an idea..
Tegoshi: But campus life is great..
Massu: Maybe I should try to enroll to an university..
Tegoshi: Stop it stop it! It won't be funny if we have to cancel the tour because you'll have exams! It will be super troublesome!
Massu: "Massu has to go to campus today, so we'll be start at 5 pm..."
(everybody laughs)

Tegoshi read the first mail, and it was from 'Tegoshi Sacchan' (Massu quickly reacted: is she your sibling? xD). She watched Johnny's Countdown (JCD) on TV and impressed by Tegoshi when he said: "Let's flirt more this year, konekochan!" She asked them about their own impression of JCD. She also wanted them to share some backstage stories if there's any.
Apparently, Tegoshi didn't show up for the last rehearsal because of ItteQ filming, but he did practice on the morning rehearsal. While Massu said that he actually afraid when he was standing on the sheer stage.
Massu: But when I look above, there were many juniors standing higher than me!
The boys also said that since there's many talents on stage, they couldn't adjust their in-ear monitor individually, and sometimes they couldn't hear anything (feedback or their own voice).
Massu: I couldn't hear anything when the Swan Song was played, so I kept touching my in-ear monitor. And when I watched the full show, I saw Tegoshi and Tsuyoshi-kun (of Kinki Kids) touched theirs too, and I was like, "aaaah they must be having the same problems!"
Tegoshi: (laughs) I know!

They also had some trouble with their in-ear monitor when they had to sing Yozora no Mukou with Sakamoto-kun and Inocchi from V6.
Aracchi: Hee.. so how do you manage to keep singing?
Massu: Well I might turn into a tone deaf, like "are karaaaaaaaa' (singing awfully lol)
(everybody laughs)
Massu: But when I saw the recorded show, it turned out okay.
Tegoshi: It's all about feeling, right..
Aracchi: You guys are professional!
And Tegoshi finally confessed about something..
Tegoshi: When we sang Yozora no Mukou, I couldn't hear anything.. I was like, "oh this is bad.." and then I improvised myself by 'faking' my harmonization and went 'huuuuuu'..
Massu: That's so unfair!

Massu also shared a story about the moment when he ate toshikoshi soba (Year-end soba) in backstage with Johnny-san (yes that Kitagawa man x)), Nakajima Kento (Sexy Zone), Yamada Ryosuke and Okamoto Keito (HSJ) and some Kanjani junior.
Massu: At first we all talked about toshikoshi soba. Like, "when we should eat it?" "usually we eat it before the show.." "but last year we ate it before going home, didn't we?" And there we talked about 30 minutes when Kamenashi-kun suddenly came up with a bowl of toshikoshi soba and started to eat it. Seeing that we were all like, 'ah, I think it's now!' and get some and Johnny-san also joined us and ate together.
Tegomass also said that it's an amazing moment because they seldom gather together with other Johnny's talents.
Massu: I remember when Koyama praised Tsubasa-kun shoes and said 'Where did you buy those shoes? Really cool!!" (mimicking Kei-chan lol). The way he spoke get on my nerves!
(everybody laughs)
Massu: Tsubasa-kun told him some stores, and said that those shoes can also purchased online.. And Koyama was like, "Ah really? I'll definitely buy them!' And three days later when I meet him, he already wear a similar, flashy shoes!

The boys revealed that Shige and Tegoshi sat in the corner reading book on the backstage.
Tegoshi: We're just like that, maybe because we're the only child.
Tegoshi was reading 'Otona no Ryugi', a book by Ijuin Shizuka he borrowed from Higashiyama-san when they filmed ItteQ together.
And Massu was a little disappointed on something..
Massu: Two years ago, we performed the song Bulldog together right? But I was failed, even though I really loves dancing. I wanted to make a revenge in the last JCD, but they didn't picked me..

At the end, they realized that they talked too much (lol they only read one mail this time) and closed the corner x)

They promoted the NEWS Utsukoi DVD, and got a little confused and worried because they thought that the 4th disc's title will be: 'NEWS bakusho tooku' or 'NEWS LOL talk' (they used this phrase for radio promotion, but had no idea whether it will be used on the actual DVD). Both Tegomass were so worried, and Massu said that title will makes them sound silly/noisy xD They then checked the DVD in a hurry and relieved.
Tegoshi: (worried) Yabai yo..
Massu: They didn't write it that way, did they?
Tegoshi: Ah, it's written here: "NEWS special CD utsukushii talk ni suru yo!" So it's okay!
Massu: Okay then!
Tegoshi: Aaah that was dangerous!
And of course they disturbed Aracchi again in the end x)
