A/N: Such a long time since I finished my latest chaptered fic of Super Junior. And this is such a long prologue, LOL. Well, I'm gonna post the first chapter as soon as I finish my SHINee fic, 'The War'. Hopefully you'll like this :D

cho kyuhyun was running down the street with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. he was late for his date, again. he blamed the tempting star craft he had. kyuhyun could guess his girlfriend would be angry to him.

“what the…” kyuhyun saw the traffic light became green so he couldn’t cross the road. he was tapping his foot impatiently, looking his watch every second. once the traffic light turned red, he hurriedly continued running.

kyuhyun saw the certain café he was heading to and opened the door. as what he had expected, his girlfriend was folding her arms on her chest with a cold glare on her eyes.

“hi, baby…” kyuhyun waved his hand and kissed her on the cheek.

“don’t ‘hi’ me, cho kyuhyun!” she spat, “you’re late, again! this is the third time in this month!”

“sorry, sweetie, please…i didn’t mean it…”

“why were you late?!”

“……star craft…” kyuhyun answered with a nervous grin.

and it was the time his girl exploding, “star craft! star craft! star craft! why didn’t you just date your star craft instead of me?! i’m tired of this thing, cho kyuhyun! we’re over!”

and with that way the girl slammed her money on the table and walked out from the café.

“damn…” kyuhyun cursed, throwing the bouquet into a trash bin, “i ruined it again…”

he felt like slamming his head onto the table, well, he did.

kyuhyun stepped into a bar and slammed his head again on the table.

“you ruined your date again i guess?” the bartender, kyuhyun’s older best friend at once, leeteuk, said.

kyuhyun nodded, “100 points for you, hyung…”

“and it was caused by your star craft again?”

“how could you know?” kyuhyun sighed.

it was leeteuk’s turn to sigh, “it’s your usual excuse if you’re late for your date, kyuhyun. i’ve know you for a long time.”

“why can’t girls accept what i love?!”

“because they’re girls, kyuhyun. if you want your lovely star craft to be accepted, you have to date a boy.”

“never found the interesting one.” kyuhyun pouted.

“okay, let’s be out from that topic!” leeteuk slammed a glass of glowing beverage in front of kyuhyun, “we have a new performer here. he’s a good vocalist and guitarist.”

“really?” kyuhyun raised his glass to his mouth, “what’s his name?”

“he didn’t tell us his real name, so we call him danhobak since he said it was his favorite food.”

hearing that, kyuhyun nearly spat his drink out, “danhobak?! sweet pumpkin?!”

leeteuk nodded, “you can laugh out of his name, but once he starts singing, you’ll see how good he is.”

“is he performing tonight?”

leeteuk smiled and pointed a dense crowd behind kyuhyun, “they’re waiting for that danhobak.”

kyuhyun turned his head back to leeteuk and sighed, “i can’t see anything.”

“don’t see. just hear. he’s performing in three minutes.”

“good evening everybody.” a sweet voice was heard behind him. kyuhyun turned his head to see the danhobak boy but he couldn’t see anything other than many heads.

“tonight, i’m going to play three songs.” the sweet voice said, “first, the acoustic version of ‘lonely’ by 2ne1, special for a gloomy lonely boy on the bar, the only one who’s backing me.”

“does it refer to me?” kyuhyun frowned to leeteuk.

“it’s just you who’s backing him, kyuhyun.” leeteuk shrugged.

“but, how could he see me?” kyuhyun frowned deeper, “i couldn’t see him!”

leeteuk stuck his finger to his lips and whispered, “shut up and listen to him singing.”

baby i'm sorry, even when i'm with you, i'm lonely
i must be lacking when it comes to love, please forgive this horrible person i am

i'm sorry, this is your and my story
i must not be worthy of this thing called love, even though i'm by your side

baby i’m so lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely
baby i’m so lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely
baby i’m so lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely
baby i’m so lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely

“he has a good voice…” kyuhyun mumbled.

“told you.” leeteuk chuckled.

the two other songs made kyuhyun forget his sorrow. he nodded his head, following the rhythm from the guitar of the singer.

when the last song nearly finished, a waiter gave kyuhyun a small paper.

“who gave me?”

the waiter pointed the crowd, “danhobak.”

then the waiter left him. the last thing kyuhyun saw before the crowd diminished was the back head of a blonde haired male with dark blue cap which was contrast with the hair walking away from his sight.

“hyung,” kyuhyun called leeteuk, “is that danhobak boy blonde?”

leeteuk nodded, “he’s in his holiday. he’s studying in music major, if i’m not wrong, he’s on his second year.”

kyuhyun unfolded the paper and read a short thin writing on it.

you didn’t like my show?

(s)

“'s?'” kyuhyun asked leeteuk, “from ‘sweet pumpkin?”

“it had to be ‘sp’ if from that nickname. it must be from his real name.” leeteuk tapped his chin, “what did he wrote?”

kyuhyun raised the paper in front of leeteuk’s face.

“what are you going to reply then?”

kyuhyun picked the pen from leeteuk’s pocket and wrote his reply on the back of the paper.

i liked it. i listened to your songs. but, i don’t like crowd. you sang well.

(k)

“’you sang well’?!” leeteuk read the last words, “he sang fabulously, stupid!”

“shut up, hyung.” kyuhyun rolled his eyes and shoved the already folded paper to leeteuk’s hand, “please, help me to give him the paper.”

“why don’t you come to him? i can give you access.”

kyuhyun shook his head, “i want to enjoy this papery thing.”

“weird.” leeteuk pocketed the paper, “now, you have to go home. you’re still underage.”

“okay, okay, mom.” kyuhyun snorted and grabbed his coat.

if asking about hangeng, you would get an answer such as famous, rich, handsome, cold, talented and else and else. it would never be enough to talk about that chinese man. born in a famous family made him surrounded by media. everything he did would be published in magazines and blogs. his attitude was always watched, haters always hoped he did a mistake and would bring him down. sadly for them, he was too flawless for that.

“you need to rest.” zhoumi, best friend and personal psychiatrist of hangeng, told him, “your graphic isn’t good.”

hangeng hid his face in his palms, “yeah, if only i had a place without press chasing me down all the time.”

“i suggest you to go to another country.” zhoumi shrugged, “come on, geng. your brain needs to relax.”

“where…?”

zhoumi tapped his chin and smiled, “i had a relative in korea. do you need his help?”

hangeng raised his head and smiled brightly, “really?! i can get out from this craziness??”

“err…” zhoumi sighed, “not permanently, but yes.”

“finally!!!” hangeng sighed happily, “yes! yes! i need your relative’s help!!!”

“okay, chill out, will you?!” zhoumi barked, “gee, geng. you’re like a child.”

a bit childish, it was something that media didn’t know. hangeng kept his face straight around the media and let his true self reveal in front of zhoumi. because he knew zhoumi could keep his secret.

zhoumi sighed and made a call through his phone. since hangeng had learned korean, he understood what zhoumi was talking about.

“yep. is it okay for you?...okay, thank you, buddy!” zhoumi ended the line and smiled.

“how was it??” hangeng asked immediately.

“he said it was okay. do you need me to accompany you?”

“surely, yes!” hangeng nodded, “come on, let’s go!”

“now?!”

“as soon as possible, so yes, it’s now!”

“but, it’s just for a week, okay? you can’t hide forever.”

“yessssssssssss! now goooooo!!!”

zhoumi sighed seeing his best friend who was older bouncing everywhere like younger than him.

they landed safely and walked out from the airport freely.

“no media! no gossip! nothing!” hangeng sighed, “ah, this is life!!”

“come on, geng. the taxi is over there.” zhoumi pointed a taxi, “let’s rest for tonight and we can go everywhere you want tomorrow.”

“who’s your relative’s name by the way?” hangeng asked once they got into the taxi.

“cho kyuhyun, he’s my uncle’s uncle’s son from my uncle’s wife side.”

hangeng made a face, “heeee??”

“yeah, never mind.” zhoumi shrugged, “it’s not far from here. we’ll make it there in about…twenty minutes.”

“he lives alone?”

zhoumi nodded, “he’s an independent boy.”

hangeng nodded and leaned his body to the backseat, “i love this country because there’s no press here. can i live here?”

“no.” zhoumi answered, raising his eyebrows threateningly, “do i have to bring you home back right now?”

“don’t…” hangeng answered quietly, “i was just asking…”

twenty minutes later, they arrived in front of a simple house. after paying the taxi, zhoumi led hangeng to the door. he pressed the bell and they heard a faint ‘wait a minute, please!’ from inside the house.

the door was opened and hangeng saw a brown haired boy.

“zhoumi?” the boy asked zhoumi, “i didn’t think you would come tonight.”

“blame this guy.” zhoumi pointed hangeng, “he rushed us.”

the boy bowed, “i’m cho kyuhyun.”

“hangeng. i’m sorry to bother you.” hangeng bowed back.

“please, come in.” kyuhyun led them into the house, “i just have two rooms. you can sleep with me, zhoumi. so, your friend can have a room for himself.”

“is it okay?” hangeng asked.

“of course.” zhoumi chuckled, “you’re a guest.”

kyuhyun kicked zhoumi’s shin, “don’t treat my guest like yours! hush!!”

“tch!” zhoumi stuck his tongue, “cocky bastard! come on, geng. i’ll show you your room.”

they entered a room and hangeng put his luggage on the wooden floor.

“is it enough for you?” kyuhyun asked smilingly.

“of course! more than enough. thanks for let me stay here.”

“for a week.” zhoumi continued.

hangeng glared to his best friend, “yeah…for a week.”

“oh, i almost forgot. if you need something there’s a mini-market a few block from here. what you have to do is just walking straight from my house and turn right. it’s a second after the hook.” kyuhyun informed.

“yes, thank you.” hangeng smiled.

“oh, zhoumi, i need to go a while. can i trust you?” kyuhyun asked.

“of course.” zhoumi nodded.

kyuhyun eyed the lanky man suspiciously before deciding that it would be okay. he grabbed a coat and put on his shoes.

“it won’t be long. just don’t break my house, okay?”

“yeayeayea, goodbye, kyuhyun.” zhoumi waved his hand lazily.

“i’m going to the mini-market, coming?” hangeng asked after changing his clothes into a sweater and sweatpants.

“naah, you’re a big boy. you don’t need guardian.” zhoumi flopped on the sofa and turned on the tv.

hangeng smacked zhoumi’s head hard, “i was just offering. i’m leaving.”

“careful.” zhoumi nodded.

hangeng put on sandals and left the house.

it was a quiet midnight. he wondered where kyuhyun was going.

“go straight…” hangeng mumbled.

when he was about to turn right, he heard running steps from the dark alley in front of him.

“watch out!!!” someone shouted, referring to him.

“wh-what…?!” hangeng shouted back.

before he could do anything, a strong arm caught his neck and something cold like metal stuck on his temple.

“what the fuck…?!” hangeng breathed.

“hey…” another man in front of him panted, “let him go…let him go. he’s not involved in this.”

“i can kill him in a second, you know that, officer?” someone who was sticking the gun on hangeng’s temple replied.

“put your gun down…” the officer in front hangeng said.

“wait…am i a hostage…?” hangeng asked.

“shut up, foreigner!” the man who was arresting him breathed. hangeng could smell a reek of alcohol from his breath.

oh, no…, hangeng cried inside his heart, i’ve just got a free life and now i’m a hostage?! great!

hangeng remembered he had learned some self-defense technique.

“release him, kim youngwoon!” the officer in front of him shouted, “now! or i’ll shoot you!”

“no!” hangeng shouted back, “what if you hit me?!”

the drunken man laughed, “see, officer? what if you hit him? listen to him! throw your gun!”

“but, you know what? i can hit you.” hangeng blurted out.

“what?” the drunken man asked.

“watch this.” hangeng grinned. he elbowed and kicked the drunken man until he fell down.

“come here!” the officer grabbed hangeng’s wrist and protected the chinese man on his chest.

two loud bangs were heard, one from the officer and one from the drunken man. but, none hit anyone. hangeng saw something glistening falling down from the officer’s wrist.

“fuck!” the drunken man cursed and started running away again.

“are you okay?!” the officer asked blank hangeng.

“yes…” he answered.

“if there’s any injury, please go to the hospital immediately! i’m sorry but i have to chase him.” the officer said. and then he chased the drunken man, disappearing in the darkness.

hangeng took the fallen thing, it was a wristwatch. it seemed broken because it wasn’t ticking. no identity. hangeng sighed and looked at where the officer has disappeared.

“how could i thank you…?” hangeng whispered.
