DIVINATION is not a WASTE of time, Professor! it is a highly challenging subject. not like arithmancy, of course, but still quite hard.

it's not only that. reading tea leaves is a small part, there are other, much more difficult branches of divination. oh, some are really hard, professor.

you should. things would go more smoothly if you did.

It's a sad excuse to act like a barmy fool and receive praise for it. The branches have no real substance, at an rate; one cannot simply predict the future from nothing.

I have no wish to see my future; and even if I did, I would not resort to Divination unless I had no other choice. You seem to have forgotten that one of Arithmancy's most basic goals is to calculate future events - at a higher rather than silly predictions.
