one day weekends are four days too short

despite all that, i managed to have a pretty good time. went to the little italy carnevale on saturday night with a friend. it was small, with a large crowd of families (read: small children). bizarrely, the streets weren't blocked off, so it meant street performers and large crowds all vying for space on the sidewalks while drivers stupid enough to think it was a good idea to drive through the event inched by on the street. all in all, i enjoyed it. we spent most of the evening in a small courtyard off the main drag and afterwards listening to a highly personable blues singer and her accompanist who were stationed two blocks away from the main bustle.

sunday i cleaned, and then headed over to my dad's for an afternoon of drawing and later the academy awards. i was blown away by hugh jackman, who had heretofore unknown mad-entertaining-skillz. and he's hot to boot (but i already knew that).

plans this week for more unending and wonderful drawing, seeing allie in LA, and a date with my boy.
