Pin Prick the Needle Like the Prick of a Pin

This is kinda like watching a slow death every time I log on to LJ these days. First of all, I hardly update as much as I used to, and that's the case with everyone else. I can't even buy a comment anymore, haha. Hell, no one even replied on MySpace to my 2008 recap/Grammy preview post. Meh... oh well.

Overall, I thought the results of the Grammy's weren't entirely horrible. I didn't anticipate anyone really dominating the show though, which is where I went wrong. I knew Robert Plant & Alison Krauss would win the big one, but didn't see them taking more. I also had no clue that Coldplay was supposedly so awesome. Meh... oh well.

I was happy to see Mars Volta win, and my band's of interests pulled out some of the fun awards. Weezer took best music video and Metallica won best packaging. I was actually following all the results on the Grammy twitter page, ha. I can't say much stuck out from the show though. I just loved M.I.A. bouncing around in her advanced state of pregnancy.

Of course, the Oscars happened now, as well. Over the last couple weeks, Becki and I managed to see a number of the nominated movies. We both agreed that "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is far better than some critics were saying. I feel like everyone was getting their panties in a bunch, but it was phenomenal. It was better than "Slumdog Millionaire". "Slumdog" was good looking, and the story was cool, but I didn't identify with it as much. We also saw "Milk," which I also thought was great. Sean Penn deserved the Oscar. But really, all of this is just personal opinion. Everyone likes different types of movies and different types of emotions. So, it's really hard to determine what is truly best. Hell... "The Dark Knight" made more money than all but one movie ever, and it somehow wasn't even nominated. It hardly makes sense.

Anyway, not a whole lot else has been happening. Cubs tickets did go on-sale last Friday, so I had the day off work and I punished my wallet continuously. I still need to sort through everything I bought, how much it all cost, and who's going to what game. I'm just excited that another baseball season is right around the corner. I also picked up a couple of Sox games, and me and Becki are planning to go out to Washington in July, where we'll try to catch another game. It should be a fun summer. I also need to organize all my vacation time from work. That is a new experience, ha.

But yeah, really... outside of all that stuff, life is pretty normal I suppose. I go to work, I come home, I try to amuse myself with certain tasks, or I get eaten up by the television. I just can't help it sometimes. I'm trying to think if there was any other excitement over the last couple weeks, but I'm not thinking of it. It's really all unimportant, right? Now, imagine if I still updated every day. You would get to hear about all the stuff I forget about now... and you still wouldn't comment, heh. Meh... oh well :)
