History: Amber was raised by a single Chinese mother in California, USA after her father sent them over from China, only having enough money to send the two of them. He had plans to join them, but they never hear d from him after a year.
From the age of eight onward Amber started staying home alone when her mother was out at work, which seemed to be all the time. Her mother and her moved a great deal, her mother taking whatever work she could find, and it got worse whenever Amber, at the age of ten Amber melted part of the jungle gym because ‘it was the base of the shitheads’.
Amber had started cursing early, and not entirely accurately.
Her gift of fire was not accompanied by any other gift with the other elements, nor did it come with a great deal of control or reliability. Her power seemed to come in waves, sometimes her power came in tidal waves that scorched entire fields, and other times she couldn’t light a campfire if she wanted too.
Her temper matched her element unfortunately, and her gravitation towards things that her mother’s friends and their children detested meant Amber didn’t have fit in particularly well in most social circles. She was energetic, loving gymnastics and music. Loud, competitive, and physically strong with a deeper voice than most girls and an aversion of most feminine things like pink and ballet meant for a long time Amber didn’t have many friends. Finally, at the age of 13 they moved to a neighborhood that had a strong love of hip-hop dancing and music, and Amber was suddenly home. With friends that accepted her regardless of her oddities her temper calmed and her nerves relaxed, causing her powers to exhibit themselves at less erratic intervals. Developing a talent for hip-hop dancing and rapping Amber’s anger at the people who hadn’t accepted her simmered down so she became a little more sociable, but she couldn’t help but be prejudiced towards the groups of people who had ignited her temper and made her mother feel ashamed of her daughter and she is still bitter towards many people in general.
When she was seventeen her friends were attacked by a group from a rival city while on the basketball court, and luckily, or maybe unluckily, her powers reacted to her anger in full force this time. When five out of twelve of her ‘enemies’ were put into the hospital the police chief told her that she could transfer to a special school for ‘her kind’ or she could be sent to prison.
Needless to say she chose prison, but because she is, as of yet, underage, it was her mother’s decision.
Personality: Amber’s temper was, and still is, legendary, though she has more control now than she use to. It is hard for her to make friends, but when she does she is extremely protective over them. She is a very creative person with a bit of an odd sense of style that she is use to people insulting her mannerisms and sense of style, so she is use to rolling these insults ‘off her back’, though she doesn’t take insults to her favorite music and dancing style very lightly, or her friends.
She loves to joke, but occasionally accidently, makes odd jokes that no one seems to get but her. She loves to do impressions though, but only her close friends know about this. She also has very odd food tastes. She enjoys sports, and any kind of athletic/physical activity, even though she isn’t very graceful and stumbles except when she plays sports. She is quite stubborn, and once she gets her mind set on doing something she stays on it until she gets it, but if it is something she really doesn’t want to do she’ll go to extreme lengths to get away from having to do it, and she has a tendency to think that many things(like school) are pointless because they don’t provide immediate enjoyment so she doesn’t take them seriously. Amber has no illusions of modesty, she doesn't get embarassed easily, and therefore acts without thinking, and even if she does think she doesn't care if anyone thinks her strange. She loves dirty jokes and makes them herself, tending being loud and boisterous regardless of rules against such. She doesn't trust people in general, and dislikes girls even more, thinking that they tend to be two faced and their priorities are warped. She dislikes people who judge other's based on looks, social status or any other frivolous things.
