post-tax season update (14 weeks, 5 days)

So, I finally have a minute to update this thing! Not much to report, really. We went in for the NT ultrasound about 2 weeks ago. The baby wasn't in a very good position for the test, so the doctor couldn't get the right measurements. We did get to see a lot of the baby, though, and heard the heartbeat again. It's pretty cool how much the baby had grown since the first ultrasound! In three weeks it had more than doubled in size! Anyway, they asked us to come back the following week to try the NT scan again, but it didn't work out. After that, when they suggested the blood test, I decided it just wasn't worth it. I don't really mind getting my blood taken, but just in case we were to find out that there are any potential problems with the baby, I don't think I really want to be worried about it for the next six months. Whatever happens, happens. It is our baby, regardless of anything else. We will just hope for the best!

My next monthly appointment is May 8th (3 weeks from today). I have a feeling that will be the appointment when we get to schedule our next ultrasound (and find out whether this baby is a boy or a girl!) I am really excited for that, so the wait is killing me. I know that pregnancy is one big waiting game, but that is the next big milestone that I am looking forward to.

One last thing, everyone has told me that the morning sickness should go away after the first trimester. Well, it's still not gone. These days, I feel the most sick in the afternoon and evening. It's certainly better than it was about 3-4 weeks ago, but not gone. By this point, I just hope it doesn't last until October! :)
