Day 19 in the hospital ... Day 4 in ICU
I guess it's a good news/bad news kinda thing. I'll get the bad news out of the way.
The feeding tube was removed yesterday b/c it appears that there is some sort of blockage to Pat's stomach. *sigh* They will be assessing that today. Not sure what it is or what can be done.
His spirits seemed a bit bleh for my first few visits yesterday but he seemed a bit better my last visit yesterday.
My MIL took the early shift today so she was there for the first visit. Pat didn't sleep well last night because of anxiety ... so he got something this morning to make him sleep. No news on the path report or what will be done with this "blockage". BUT ... yesterday I was told that he wasn't ready to come off the ventilator. It has been set at 16 since he has been there. His mom said that they have cut it back to 12 and the number that is displayed on the screen is about what it has been for the past few days. That means that the ventilator is helping him less and his lungs are beginning to work harder. :)
Well, I'm running late and need to head over to the hospital for the day.
