I really wanted to use Alana in today's picture, as it's the four year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. If you don't recall, or weren't on my f-list back then, Hurricane Sandy hit us hard in 2012, destroying both my family's home and Halloween itself. And the spot where this picture was taken is right around where the tree that destroyed the house once stood, and if you look very closely, you can actually see the remnants of it. Somehow I feel like taking pictures for the OPotDC here represents triumph somehow. It really is crazy to think that four years have gone by. It's also crazy that I don't think I've ever paired Alana with the blue pumpkin pail before. heh.
In other news, I shot a pic-fic today! It's going to be a little shorter than normal as I really, really had issues coming up with an idea this year at all, and it's likely going to be more on the humorous side as I couldn't come up with anything especially deep this year, but I'm actually feeling really good about it, despite having waited to the last minute. I'm also really happy with most of the pictures just as stand-alones, so that's always a good thing. I just can't believe that it's the 29th already. I really don't know where it all went this year. I feel like I never even got into the swing of posting a picture a day, and now here we are coming to the end of the challenge. It's crazy how fast the time goes.
