You know you're bored when you change the keywords of all your icons (an idea I got from
thecullenforce that always seem to change her icon keywords when she's bored).
Truthfully I'm bored AND hungry.
In the spirit of Halloween I thought I'd give you some horror movie (some true horror, some horror-comedy, some gore ...etc etc) suggestions;
Dog Soldiers (2002)The only werewolf movie I've ever been able to stand (sorry Silver bullet). Packed with hillarious and brilliant punchlines this movie is always a favorite when my friends and me are having a "horror" marathon.
Yes, it's not a "true" horror movie (I'd say it's more horror/gore/comedy) but it's still one of the best damn werewolf movies out there. Gotta love Brittish horror.
Sergeant Harry Wells: My guts are out Coop!
Cooper: We'll just put 'em back in then!
Sergeant Harry Wells: They're not gonna fucking fit!
Cooper: Of course they'll fit, man!
Classic.

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)It's one of those movies that freaks you the fuck out the first time you watch it. I STILL can't watch the animal scenes but I have to admit that the movie is ground-breaking and pretty brilliant. Plus the director (Ruggero Deodato) was arrested and brought before a jury, accused of making a true snuff film and killing the actors. Even though he didn't really kill his actors, this movie is to this very day still banned in several countries.

American Psycho (2000)See! This is why I always expect Christian Bale to go insane and run around naked with a chainsaw in every movie he's in. Though he's absolutely brilliant as Bateman.

The Thing (1982)Classic! What else can I say? I've read in an interview that the last remaining actors (the ones that survived at the end) still don't know who was infected ..or even if they were infected at all at the end. Kurt Russell is totally badass here.
The thing doesn't get nearly enough credit because it's really an awsome movie. Ground breaking.

Suspiria (1977)Most of the time you have NO idea what the hell's going on but it's my favorite Dario Argento movie. I love his way of shooting movies and how he focuses on small weird details.

Evil Dead (1981)Evil Dead II (1987)Army of Darkness (1992)I LOVE this movie triology to death (haha). It's funny, raw, entertaining and never fails to put me in a good mood. Bruce Campbell is awsome as Ash. Did I mention that it's hilarious?

Aliens (1986)The second movie in the Alien series and also the best one. If you can ignore the rising urge to throw Bill Paxton's character out an airlock that is. What I love about the Alien series is the building suspense, you don't have giant monsters eating everyone in sight right from the start ...no, you get to learn stuff about the characters while you KNOW that behind every corner certain death could wait.
The motionsensor thingy must be the worst thing EVER. Imagine standing there and suddenly there's beeping dots all over your damn screen, what the hell are you going to do? NOTHING. Because before you have the chance to kill yourself an acid bleeding a-hole has already bitten your skull off ...or stored you somewhere where the acid bleeding a-hole's BABIES can rape your face and you can suffer horribly as it bursts out of your chest. Lovely.

Halloween (1978)The only, the only; Mikael Myers. Jamie Lee Curtis gets to run her cute little ass off ..only that she doesn't run, she fights back. Too bad Mikael don't believe in bullets. Or stabbing wounds. Or fires. Apparently he DOES believe in being brought back to life by druids though (if you know about that, God help you).
May not be the best horror movie out there, but it's a classic. Great actors, good music and I really enjoy the building suspense where Laurie Strode sees him one second and the next he's gone.

Hellraiser (1987)Pinhead FTW! I've read that they're re-making this classic and Clive Barker is in it. If you've never read anything by Clive Barker you've really missed out, the man's a twisted genious. I want to marry his brain ...if, you know, he wasn't gay and lived with his life partner.

Cabin Fever (2002)This movie was made on a very low budget and still turned out great. I really enjoy how they turn on each other so easily and how the NOT knowing who's infected or not part drives them completely insane. The true horror is not the infection but the nature of the human mind ...and how easily you can turn from ordinary good hearted person to cold blooded murderer.

A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)The true one! The only one (also the Korean one)! If you ask me, stupid American remakes DO NOT exist. Why do stupid american movie makers feel the need to re-make every damn asian horror movie?! AND RUIN IT COMPLETELY?! Ok, so it's not out yet ...but I'm pretty damn sure they'll ruin it.
This movie is one of my loved ones. Sure, it's not OMG!SCARY but it's eerie. The Director (Ji-woon Kim) manages to build up this atmosphere that keeps you completely glued to your screen and you're dying to find out what the hell's going on.

28 Days Later... (2002)I had NO expectations when I first watched this movie and it blew me away. Interesting characters, good story line, great photography and that perfect "who's the monster - the monster or the human" twist all rolled up in one pretty damn good Brittish 'zombie' movie.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)I remember watching this the first time as a young child and it kept me on pins and needles. You never quite knew who was alien and who wasn't until it was too late. I really enjoyed the dark atmosphere and the ending that left you with a sense of hopelessness. That no matter what they do, they're too late.
Lots of brilliant actors in here as well.

The Descent (2005)Another one of those movies that totally blew me away. The movie keeps building up this eerie atmosphere until it finally leaves you with a totally WTF?! ending. It starts kinda meh and you're wondering if this movie is actually going somewhere ..but then it gets cracking. I'd totally recommend this to anyone.

Audition (1999)This is one of those movies that's on every single top horror list out there (well almost anyway) but it really deserves all the credit it gets as well. The director (Takashi Miike) keeps building this eerie and creepy wibe that makes it almost impossible NOT to like this horror. It's also filled with beautiful photography and Eihi Shiina is stunning.

I have TONS of other horror movies I love (some even more than the ones I posted about here), but that would make this post a neverending story ..and unless I get a flying white dog-dragon it ain't gonna happen.
