Don't Drink the Kool-Aid: A Cautionary Tale

I already put this up as a bulletin on MySpace, but I figure I might as well cover all my bases.

This is a rare political comment; I don't want to stump for one candidate over the other, I just want to make a point, mainly because I'm tired of all the Ron Paul graffiti on campus.

I'm actually kind of happy I had to look that up. Aside from The DaVinci Code, I think that's the one book I want to read the least.

Have to disagree, while I may not agree with much, if any, of what Ayn Rand has to say, Atlas Shrugged, more specifically the bum in the train scene, has some of the most convinving arguments for why capitalism is necessary, even if she does take it to a fanatic extreme. It's a great book, though Ayn is obviously fucking insane.
Plus, she knows what she's talking about, and isn't some person who read two books and saw a history channel documentary on the holy grail and thought, "Fuck me, I could get rich off this!" and then proceeded to write an insanely mediocre thriller.

Fair enough. If you have a copy, I'll give it a shot.

We'll see if my Dad's copy is easily findable tomorrow night, though I'm worried I may not have returned it after I borrowed it the summer after tenth grade (I had to look smart for Julia Dahl, who I was going on vacation with).

Ayn Rand creeps me out.
I think it's because people like to walk around with copies of the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged when they suddenly become intellectual.

But it's probably actually because I had to read Anthem in 8th grade and it was like a shitty version of the Giver even though it came first.
