Cut Down: Like many in his canon, Rolo is in possession of a geass, a power that is activated by his unusual eye. Rolo's geass is able to freeze the perception of time for those within a certain radius around him, which can be as small as the area around a specific person or as large as an entire school. However, Rolo isn't capable of completely altering the flow of time. Even when his power is in effect, the flow of water, rain, cameras, missiles, and other factors not controlled by the humans around him continue to remain in motion. He generally uses the time his geass gives him to attack with a knife he carries beneath his school uniform or get into a a more tactically advantageous position. In the notes Lelouch has on Rolo, it is also mentioned that he can use a weapon in both hands and has been previously known to use firearms, explosives, poisons, and other weapons, aside from the knife best known by viewers. His powers can be used for a time roughly around five seconds and every time he uses them, his heart also stops.
It is of note that his use of this power can and does extend to his mecha piloting. In fights, Rolo's Vincent Knightmare appears to 'disappear' before attacking his opponents, thus making him a formidable adversary, even for some of the more skilled pilots allied with Zero's Black Knights.
In Stopped Trains, I will be shortening the area Rolo is able to affect to a room with some strain and limiting him to only be able to activate the geass four times a day. He will, of course, not have access to his Vincent or any other weaponry besides the knife.
Personality: At a glance, Rolo appears antisocial and dettached, someone who would rather watch on-goings from a distance instead of getting involved. He doesn't easily form interpersonal relationships and seems awkward in dealing with others, becoming flustered or unnaturally blunt in direct conversations. When struck with situations he doesn't feel comfortable in, he will usually respond with violence covered by his geass ability, such as when he stabs a man for touching his locket, offers to kill a teacher for Lelouch, or eventually kills Shirley when he feels she might pose a threat.
The only person this doesn't apply to is Lelouch, who has earned his fierce loyalty and downright creepy levels of dedication. Rolo can and will do anything for Lelouch to the point of killing the children he grew up with and his own death. And, even more so, will do anything to ensure that he is the only sibling that Lelouch will ever need, showing great concern when Lelouch talks about Nunally in his sleep and even going so far as to plan to kill her when Lelouch sends him to retrieve her. Rolo will follow him anywhere, watch him sleep, and will often fore-go consulting him in giving others orders he feels are in Lelouch's best interest.
He is not completely oblivious to the fact that he's being used by Lelouch, though, but he openly welcomes it, having known nothing other than a life of being someone's tool.
