If asked, Yeul would be honest about the fact that, out of all the eons she had to sort through and to pick and choose from, the times between her most recent death and her next birth were… soothing.
It was dark and there was little to do but be reformed bit by bit, piece by piece, accompanied by the rushing of blood in another's veins and the beat of another's heart. There was no need to do anything, or think anything. Just be.
Yeul, after so long, liked that best of all.
This time around, it reminded her a bit of the gift Liara had given her, of silent spaces that stretched on for eternity, only barely touched by stars.
Being reborn was unpleasant, but Yeul endured. She blinked newborn eyes at the world (again) and did not bother to listen to the warm and terribly familiar chatter that accompanied a birth. The warmth would fade, soon enough, as they realized who she was, rather than the child they thought they would have.
Yeul waited with no expectations of how she would be treated.
Over the years, she had found it was easier that way.
