Am I ever going to write about something that I hate on here? All in good time, all in good time...

The simpsons is one of those few things in popular culture that I can really say changed my life. I can say without hesitation that the show made me smarter, more creative, and taught me critical thinking. Some of the most important lessons that I've learned about the world are because of the Simpsons.

But let's face it, the TV show isn't what it used to be. It's been around forever, a lot of ground has been covered. I've seen some recent episodes that I liked and some that I haven't. When I heard that they were making a simpsons movie, I didn't know what to think. Would it be a recent episode only longer and with more product tie ins?

All of my fears were releived almost instantly. This movie rocks. It was consistently funny throughout the whole thing. A couple of jokes were duds but I haven't laughed this hard at a theater since Borat.

The plot was suitably relevant: Homer manages to pollute springfield so badly that it's declared a Federal emergency and it's covered with a giant dome. Like most simpsons episodes the plot is of little consequence, but unlike family guy the humor is at least coherent. All of the flashbacks and dream sequences had something to do with what was happening in the movie, I wish Seth McFarlane would learn some of the same discipline.

Go see this damn movie right now.
