You're all probably familiar with the story of a man from Chicago who started a band with some friends, sold a shit ton of records and then broke the whole thing up only to reform a few years later with a half the band missing.

This time around Billy Corgan proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was the true brains behind the Smashing pumpkins. This album rocks as hard as anything else he's ever done. Right from the first drum solo it becomes clear that this is not going to be a sad, somber, coming of age album written by a man beyond his prime.

The album is a logical continuation of the trends set by the last couple of smashing pumpkins albums, it rocks like machina but with distinctive electronic elements similar to Adore. I suppose the most unique thing is the use of vocal harmonies, Corgan sings over himself quite a bit on this record but with a distinctive processed tone.

A kick ass album indeed.
