Russ Meyer on TCM????
What the hell???
Turner Classic Movies furthers their bid to be the Best TV Channel Ever by running a Russ Meyer double feature in the wee hours of tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 28, that is.)
They start off at 2:15 AM with "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and continue at 3:45 AM with "Mudhoney." Now, neither of these are near as sleazy as Meyer's 70's stuff (like "Supervixen" or "Up!"), not even featuring any nudity ("Pussycat" is only rated TV-14!), but it still boggles the mind to see these on basic cable, given their long-standing reputation in cult movie circles. Freaky. Thank you TCM! Keep surprising me!
PS: I promise my next review by tomorrow. I'm determined to not let this slide past a full month between posts...
