I miss it... I miss the Saturday adventures in D&D land.

What I do not miss though is DMing. I am an OK DM, but I really need a multi-year break where I can just be a player.

So I want to start playing again regularly and soon, like maybe May 13th... Anybody from the gang willing to run a game???

Looking at what I have open, technically we still have the lower/mid lvl characters, that were dispatched from the keep, and are currently examining the "Haunted" dam. Also, Haven was abandoned with the addition of lower planar beings. It is still unknown why. That will be for the higher lvl guys and gals, and is not as impossible as you belive it to be. You have abandoned all hope in Haven, and have ignored it. What could have brought all the planar beings to haven? And what are those odd pillars of rock?

Christ ... that was how many years ago? Sorry dude, but it seems that's the only story people tell about me when it comes to gaming ... and it was roughly five years ago (possibly longer).

We also tell the "I'm a Human Ranger showing signs of some plauge so I run through the portal to try to find the Elves... They will welcome me with open arms right?"... "Ummmm, no."

I wish I could remember exactly what was happening during game when that took place because I know that it wasn't as straight forward as that. I know I asked something along the lines of if the elves would welcome me, but that's not exactly how I phrased it ... and to add it was also "asked" in a joking manner. =P

Might be fun to try again... I am just worried that you as a DM tend to make things very bleak. I am all for killing off a character or two here and there, and I am no where the best DM to sit in the chair, but dude, when you DM you tend to really convey that there is no hope of surviving so it makes us ask why bother sometimes. At least that is what I have felt.

It's a little like not only finding your dead hampster, but that your snake died trying to eat it, and then your mom got into a car accident and dies on the way over, and then while trying to bury them it starts to rain, and your credit card is declided while trying to pay to the funeral because somebody stole your identiy, but the police belive the other guy and not you so you are in jail with a cell mate named bubba who thinks you are "pretty"... and what the fuck is a shamoflange???

Can you tone it down (or should I say up) a notch or five?
