NWC, notes to self, and I feel older...
The hectics of today start in a about 15 min or so for me. Big thanks for all the help yesterday and Tuesday to James, Dave, Ria, Kevin, Sacha, Kayla, and MG.
All that is left before leaving is packing my own bag, a quick run to the drug store, a load of dishes (I hate coming back to a stack of dishes, couple is fine, a full load is bad), and loading the ISS with the party food and personal gear... Oh, I may have to clean a cooler too.
Not a lot but I would like to have the ISS truck fully loaded and to leave by 11:30, maybe noon... 3.5ish hours. Should be a walk in the park.
Once we get on site and I get checked into 5231, and after talking with Bill 5233 just to be safe, I should have time to grab my prereg before room tear down and setup starts at about 2pm. We are a couple hands short this year, but I think it is pretty workable...
Must remember to take a leatherman, the small backup HDD, and to turn the charger off on my fun little scooter that we were playing with yesterday. Maybe I will wear BDU's after all. Pockets are a good thing on days like today.
I really think this years parties are going to be a blast... We have a solid Anime theme that is different from our Pirate one from the last couple of years, and showing movies should be interesting.
Now while the parties are going to be a blast I am really going to miss having everyone at Norwes. When I look back over the last 13 Norwescon's 95% of my memories are about the things that our little tribe did, not about who I met, or what panel I was on or in. Don't get me wrong, fun and hijinks's will happen, good memories will be created, but going into this year seems really off to me. Hey, at least we have the Friday pre-party panic with everyone... Sounds like everyone will be arrive between 2 and 4 which should be awesome.
Time to take that deep breath, grab a quick shower, and get back to work.
Oh and before I forget... Happy Birthday to me. I'm 32 now. Still no midlife crisis, so I guess no birthday sports car for me again this year ;o)
