The house is totally dark except for the roaring fireplace and I'm operating on a xanax bar I bought this week from Devon. It has made this a pretty relaxing evening so far, and not having taken any pills in a long time, I really needed something to even me out but as I write this, my rather peaceful state of mind is in jeopardy. My hope was to come up here and spontaneously reflect on things from this relaxed perspective while listening to Sigur-Ros. Unfortunately, the CD is trapped inside the living room stereo. The wall outlet doesn't work, so I can't turn on the unit to get the CD out. I was prepared to let that go without much stress, but now my alternative CD (Air's Talkie Walkie) is giving me trouble too. I put it in my computer's CD player and the only screen that pops up is this damn wallpaper option. I am somehow not able to access the actual songs because the pretentious bastards thought it was more important to offer you the opportunity to advertise their album for free on your deskstop. Oh well, this isn't terribly surprising because even though their music is brilliant, they have the unfortunate habit of selling it to cheesy car commercials, so I guess this isn't too out of character for them. Okay, more bad news. I've just discovered that I ACCIDENTALLY selected their wallpaper option, which replaced the gorgeous Rachel Foster, the vegan fetish model who previously tiled my deskstop screen. These bastards better hope I can find that image again, but it may or may not be possible because PETA's Too Sexy For Leather contest, which I took the image from, has been over for some time. I'm gonna go grab an ice water and attempt to find a CD that won't hassel me.
Perfect. Now that I'm listening to Spiritualized: Laser Guided Melodies, I'm thinking this whole ordeal was worth it. When I listen to this CD, it reminds me of the time Misty, Brian and I saw them in Dallas, as the concert featured several songs from this album.
If I can bear the bright light from my computer monitor, reading live journals doesn't sound like a bad way to end the evening...
