Riley held his cell phone between his shoulder and his ear to free up his hands to do his jeans up. He glanced at the clock; he had plenty of time under his belt. He waited for Mrs Brennan to get Tara on the other end of the line. Riley had simply called to speak to either Lachlan or Tara's parents about how Lachlan was holding up now that the court ordeal was over with, but the friendly Irish lady had insisted Tara wanted to speak to their friends if they called, though she confirmed Lachlan didn't want to be disturbed at this time, which Riley expected anyway.
He took a random t-shirt from his drawer and pulled it over his head, then ran his comb through his hair. He could hear the phone being taken somewhere, which again made sense because even though she'd been discharged from hospital so she could be with Lachlan, she was still on strict bed rest.
