state of the rp: general
I've actually gotten back into the swing of things, after a week of being in some sort of slumpish doohickey whatsit. I'm trying not to push myself to tag when I'm not feeling it, though, despite how guilty I feel if I skip a day, but I think it's helped me out. Right now, it's kind of my stress relief? XD And my reward for being productive. App-wise, I'd still like to try playing out Sharon somewhere, but that's not anything pressing.

Overall thoughts/development: I opted not to go too in-depth on this one quite yet, because I have been awful at tagging in this game so far. Not that I don't have beautiful castmates, but I think my timing could have been better. I haven't been able to devote enough attention to it yet, which makes me feel pretty damn bad, but I have a hard time getting into games if I don't put enough OOMPH into it from the beginning. I'll try to get more into it on my day off, but this is kind of an iffy thing still. No reflection on anyone else, JUST MY OWN FAILURE. And, you know, the problem I've always had with playing the same character in more than one game.

restardomSeries: Persona 4
Age: 16 (17 in-game)
Tagging priority: ■ ■ ■ ■ □
I know the logical thing to do is to tag with the person who gets the least tags, but I find that if I finish Rise's first, that's half the work done right there.
Muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □
It's not at full strength right now, but a playthrough of P4 should help rekindle it. Thankfully, Rise's voice isn't hard to lose and it's just as easy to pick it up again. She really is one of my easiest to tag for, except when I'm tired.
Cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
What can I say? I absolutely adore every single member of my cast. They really have an amazing grasp on their characters and we've become pretty close-knit as a group, so it makes it easy to have plots and discussions. The threading is magical. You guys were worth waiting for. ♥
Plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
It's Rise. There is very little she can't get involved in. Even with just matchmaking alone, she'll be in shenanigans for months. She's really open for anything, which makes it so beautifully easy to get plots with her.
Shipping Potential: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
DON'T JUDGE ME. /)_(\ Rise being the Lovers Arcana and all and just... being Rise, it's incredibly easy to ship her with people. She really just forms bonds and ends up with such amazing dynamics that I never expected, and I love them. The problem being her... track record with a successful romance isn't the greatest. Do I want Rise in a relationship? Absolutely. Do I think it'll happen?
... Well, it's not impossible. But it won't be anytime soon. I live for development and you know... if it's a derp, there's that additional problem to deal with. No partners, she's learned her lesson. She is the most aware of romantic developments out of my bunch, though, and is straightforward enough to get her point across when she likes someone, so any painful density in a ship won't be on Rise's part.
General fun level: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
I admit it, Rise's a blast to play. She's the type to fluster you with no regrets whatsoever and it takes a lot to embarrass her in return, but then you have her various failures in composing and cooking to take into consideration, and how blunt she can be with her friends, as well as teasing-- yeah. Add in the allure of her Furret who hates everything, the Steelix who thinks she's a dog, and the world's shyest Bellossom, and I regret nothing.
Likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □
The day I drop Rise is the day I drop Route.
Overall thoughts/development: Oh god I could tl;dr here, but I won't. I never imagined Rise would grow so much, but it's been a journey. She's really come into her own as support, not just for her team, but for other people, and it leads back to what she told Souji, that she wants to stand on her own two feet, and that as long as there's something she can do, that's the most important thing for her. At the same time, she's slowly learning how to show strangers and people outside the team all the different sides to her, and personally, I find it fascinating that the more she knows you, the more she'll reveal unintentionally. She's gotten a little tougher and a little more mature, and she's found family here and people who accept her after... well, you know, Shadow stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing how much she'll still grow.
AND MAYBE ONE DAY SHE WON'T FAIL AT HAVING A RELATIONSHIP.
TENJOIN ASUKA;
primaduelerinaSeries: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
Age: 18 (19 in-game)
Tagging priority: ■ □ □ □ □
She's been pretty low maintenance, sadly, but she always ends up losing a lot of her CR somehow. ;;
Muse strength: ■ ■ □ □ □
Another sad story! It's been awhile since I've watched GX and somehow, the thought of marathoning it sounds kind of exhausting. As such, Asuka's voice has suffered for it, and I hate it, because it makes me feel like her tags are becoming highly generic.
Cast strength: □ □ □ □ □
WHAT CAST.
Plotting capabilities: ■ ■ □ □ □
Most of her plotting potential comes from the fact that she travels with Hayate and the other Angels, though there's also some dueling stuff that's come up, because lord knows she hasn't had the chance to properly show her stuff as a duelist or bond as much with the other duelists.
Shipping Potential: ■ □ □ □ □
At the moment, it's kind of nonexistent, because it's Asuka, and the one time she canonly developed a crush on someone, she very quickly realized it wouldn't end well and refrained from confessing. And the one person she might have developed a crush on is in a relationship, SO. Yeah, she has more of a chance in canon with a few other people, but there isn't anyone she's interested in, Route-wise, and she's okay with that. It's low on her list of priorities.
General fun level: ■ ■ ■ □ □
I still love playing Asuka, and it's nice to have a serious, mature character on the roster who's over the age of twelve. But the fretting over making her tags sound NOT GENERIC has been kind of sapping the fun out of it.
Likelihood of drop: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Right now, it's mostly her CR that's kept me from dropping her. I may try for another month, watch an episode or two, and try to persevere, but I don't want to force it beyond that, so I suppose we'll see how things go.
Overall thoughts/development: Asuka's had a good run; she's relaxed a little, she's gotten all the badges, and she's learned quite a bit over the course of a year, which was what she's always wanted. Her own personal growth, that is. I'd still like to see her grow more, or at least keep learning to have more fun, but again, we'll just have to see how it goes from here.
SOHMA KISA;
biteisbiggerSeries: Fruits Basket
Age: 12 (13 in-game)
Tagging priority: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Kisa's a middle muse, in that she's not usually top priority, but I do tend to jump on her tags after Rise's. She's been getting a lot more tags lately, but I think that's also mainly because she's got multiple threads with her CR.
Muse strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ □
This one actually surprised me, because I've tried playing Kisa twice before in other games and it just... didn't work. XD But I think getting the chance to read the manga instead of just watching the anime and reading ALL 23 VOLUMES did wonders. And as quiet as she is, Kisa's got a firm stance on things and it's been fun to write for her.
Cast strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Only a few Sohma family members, and I don't get to thread with our Hatori and Rin all that much, but they're a lot of fun to thread with when I do! There's also the additional connection between Kisa and Rin now, now that Kisa knows Akito also injured Rin. And of course Melissa's Ritsu is amazing. No regrets here.
Plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Kisa's plotting stuff mostly consists of Pokémon shenanigans as she tries to be a good Breeder with a bunch of mainly unruly Pokémon. I'd like to do something involving her curse, but that's difficult to do when it's not something she'd bring up on her own without a catalyst. Currently, Ur's the only person outside of the family who knows, and that was due to Ritsu. The other thing is that I'd love to get her out and moving again, but because it's Kisa, and she tends to latch onto what's safe and familiar, getting her on the road is a struggle.
... I really might just have her Togekiss take off with her one day. It's really tempting.
Other than that, though, there have been opportunities to be cute with her CR and I think she deserves a break, so there's that.
Shipping Potential: ■ ■ □ □ □
Kisa tends to be adorable with her guy friends, I'll admit. And I do ship some stuff, but because she's still pretty young, any sort of attraction she develops to boys is regarded with some confusion on her end. If she feels jealous, she wonders at the feeling. If the boy in question is acting strange around her, she's concerned, but doesn't think it's because said boy likes her. Crushes are treated in the sense of puppy love, but she is getting older, and things may slowly develop for her.
However, it's not anything I'll be rushing, so I'll just let things happen as they will. NOT TO MENTION, dear god, if you fall for Kisa, you have to deal with her family. And Ironhide. And she'd REALLY have to talk about the being possessed thing, because she can't commit to a relationship without being honest. This is assuming you get past all her self-esteem issues and convince her you like her despite the fact that she's a weird-looking freak--
Also she is kind of dense and you may have to flat-out tell her you like her, or Kisa will never make a move.
... Yeeeah.
General fun level: ■ ■ ■ ■ □
FOR A LOLI WHO DOESN'T TALK ALL THAT MUCH, I end up grinning like a dork whenever I do her tags. Yes, I know. Stop laughing.
Likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □
I WOULD NEVER.
Overall thoughts/development: In terms of development, Kisa is the one I'm most proud of. I apped her from a canon point where she was completely mute, because I wanted to see if I could get her decent CR like that. I'll be honest, I didn't think she'd last more than a month or two, but it's been over a year now. And getting her to the point where she finally gained the courage to start speaking, and went from being barely audible to... a little more audible and less hesitant around friends and family... it was really gratifying. I've been taking it slow with her, and I'm not sure if people have noticed, but she's slowly becoming more confident with her speech-- at least with people she's close to. She's growing closer to the point where she'll be able to smile and laugh readily with certain people without being as worried that she's doing the wrong thing. She'll always be shy, though. I guess in a sense, she's growing up.
I really do want her to come clean anout the Zodiac stuff, but hnnnngh. If we get an Akito, SHIT WILL GET INTERESTING
KIKUCHI MAKOTO;
thisisfrillerSeries: the iDOLM@STER
Age: 17
Tagging priority: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Makoto's upper priority, but she tends to wear me out a little more than Rise does. I don't usually have a problem getting through her tags, though, unless they're all like multi-comment reactionspam.
Muse strength: ■ ■ ■ □ □
She's still a fairly new muse, which means like with all my fairly new muses, I FRET LIKE A MOFO over getting her voice right. It's there and for the most part, I feel like it's solid, but sometimes I second-guess myself and go back to see how she words things, or what a Makoto reaction would be like.
Cast strength: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
I LOVE ALL MY FELLOW IDOLS, 'NOUGH SAID. I'm so happy to be in a cast with them, ngl.
Plotting capabilities: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
THROUGH. THE. ROOF. I am almost appalled at how many ideas I have for this girl, and not all of it is idol stuff, but boyish stuff and Pokémon stuff (the struggle of trying to make her Feebas pretty), and just so much. It helps that Makoto's game to try any new adventurous thing at least once.
Shipping Potential: ■ ■ ■ □ □
Makoto wants to have an encounter with a prince-- or, at the very least, she will endure making girls (and girly boys) dokidoki simply by virtue of being her boyish self, so long as one day, there's someone who comes along and sees her as a girl. I would love to play out the hilarity development of a relationship in-game, because she just kind of... does a one step forward, FIVE STEPS BACK thing completely unintentionally. The next most aware one after Rise, because she at least recognizes when she's attracted to someone.
And she's probably the type to ask someone on a date if they take too long--
General fun level: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■
You play an idol who completely can't be cute unless she's not trying and is manlier than half of the men, who makes girls swoon with her AURA and is terrified of bugs and just so happens to be a black belt. She wants to be cute, but she was raised as a boy. She does all the voices when she reads shoujo manga (horses included). Add in the fact that she's genuinely open and honest and that she's ridiculous in general.
Get the opportunity to abuse reactionspam comments when people mistake her for a boy and/or crush her dreams and/or terrify her.
Who wouldn't have fun?
Likelihood of drop: □ □ □ □ □
As unsteady with her voice as I still am, I love her too much to drop her. DEAL WITH IT.
Overall thoughts/development: I'm really looking forward to playing out Makoto's struggle with wanting to be cute, but constantly failing at it and attracting other people with her boyish qualities instead. Whether she's assisted on the cute front or not, I want her to reach the point she hits in episode 17-- she accepts the role of 'prince' to give her fans their dreams of being princesses, but still holds out hope that there's someone out there that will do the same for her. She... hasn't quite reached that point yet, and I'll canon update her when the series ends, but right now, she is so gungho about being girly and still kind of sucking at it. I'm also interested to see how things will go when people actually see her perform as an idol.
