(I thought this would be good to document.)
We've had the good fortune of having the Maki kids at our house on Mondays and Fridays throughout this summer. This has been a wonderfully positive experience and a good precursor to cohousing, I imagine.
Typical things we do on Maki days include multiple "walks" around the block (with scooters, tractor, jumprope, skates, etc...), dancing, hide-and-seek, "no! no! get Elijah! (or anyone)" game, TV, crafty stuff, Cheerios and pasta, LOTS of swinging, digging games, collecting herbs (they indulge me so), pretend games (baby dragon), water slide (on sunny days) and rain drumming (we've had lots of rain).
Some highlights were an excursion to blue playground, face painting (red face Elijah incident), baseball, weighing Xavier on the see-saw (how many rocks does it take to lift Xavier?), clay and Juli collecting acorns.
To name the few that come easily to mind. Fun!
