The first icons I made were not nearly as nice as yours when you first started! You hit the ground running lol And animated icons are so frustrating, but worth it in the end sometimes. I edit them using a site called lunapic, if you're interested in checking it out. It's super ghetto and stupid, but it's works for gifs :) And it's free! haha

You're welcome! The rain animations I have above was added on lunapic. It has zero wiggle room for the animations they offer, so you just have to learn to choose the right pictures. But it gets the job done :P
I know other icon makers have the patience for complicated work on photoshop, but I know I don't have photoshop or nearly as much patience. lol
