Today was great. Actually it started last Thursday with an email from Roxane. The email said that there was a 10 month old, black male pug with demodex, and an eye injury that was at a Vets....and was coming into the care of PugSavers...would I be interested in fostering him....I decided before finishing the email that my answer was yes...now just to talk to T....who was amazingly okay with the plan. I picked him up on Friday afternoon...a bundle of energy, nerves and that lovely demodex smell...I wondered what I was doing...in reading LJ earlier, I had found out that it was K's BD....I really felt that he was a gift from her...4 hours into his homecoming, he had calmed down, had a bath, and had gone potty outside, when asked!....not chased my cats, and had a look and smile on his face that is still amazing. He slept thru the night in bed...ate a great breakfast, and did not require the 2-3 people the Vets said might be needed to put his eye cream in. Saturday we went for a walk, the first pug I have ever had that knew to go forward on the leash..and keep the sniffing to a reasonable level. I have named him Jack,...and told R tonight that I wish to adopt him..I am the lucky one...the paper work should be completed in the next few days...he will need care for the next several months for the demodex and eye injury. He has a white 'spot' on his chest, and the rest is jet black..he has a wave or two in his fur, and his tail is long and curly. He will need to be neutered in 2 weeks as long as his skin continues to heal. Most of all he radiates happiness....and fits Hannah like a glove.
