What is it with people, that when giving a jacket of some sort that is fluorescent in colour turns them in to the worst kind of people ever - the jobsworth

Urg I hate jobsworth bastards like that!! They only do stuff like that to inflate their own sense of self importance. They do stuff like that only to show they have some sort of power in their otherwise meaningless lives. I mean I'm a follower of the rules, I understand why they're there and why there is need for them. But obviously there are exceptions!
Another example of jobsworth bastardism:
Ben had to go on one of these spar day training courses about alcohol. The Spar is pretty tough on alcohol so they brought in all these new rules about IDing ppl if they look under 25. Rules like, even if you know the person is over 18 you have to ID them (like even if it's your brother sister etc), if say the person bought Alcohol and then comes in 10 minutes later to buy more alcohol you have to ID them again.
Ben had to stop this guy when he said "If a spar employee comes in and wants to buy alcohol you have to ID them" Ben raised the excellent point of "but you know i'm over 18 because it's on the books, and your not allowed to sell alcohol when your under 18 and what your saying would mean I have to show ID everytime I go into work to sell alcohol"
I think the guys reply was something like "It's just the rules"
