We clean the bowl frequently, and his food is kept in an air tight container... I might try a new a brand. I talked to a pug owner friend of mine, and he said one of his pugs is finicky, and sometimes needs to be hand fed or he wont eat.
He goes to the vet on the 7th, so I will double check with the vet then
Some pugs are picky, while others will eat just about anything. iampug doesn't eat much beyond what we put in his bowl (doesn't like most treats, seems skeptical when it comes to table scraps). He seems to do OK though, never had a problem with being underweight. A few times we'd see him go a few days without really wanting to eat anything, but he's always come around and been OK.
I dont know if this is relevant, but when we first got daisy, she ate out of a metal bowl, and when we switched her to a larger plastic bowl, she wouldnt eat out of it because of the way her rabies tag clicked against the bowl.
I can understand how that would make a difference. In this case tho, JP has had his rabies tag for a while now, and his food bowl is still the same. This behavior just started randomly this morning.
I'll check with my vet when he goes in on the 7th, and just keep a close eye on him until then.
Wow, I would totally not hand feed my dog unless it was convalescing or something drastic. My pug didn't eat that much over this summer when she was living in our RV with Daddy out of state. But she was just fine. As long as the dog doesn't get lethargic or unresponsive I think it's fine.

Try fresh food.
Try changing brands.
If that doesn't work, or if he suddenly starts acting sick or lethargic or otherwise unhealthy, then take him to a vet and have him checked out.
