Hey rach.. don't beat yourself up over it. You didn't know it would happen or I know you wouldn't have ever brought that other dog home. You take too good of care of your "baby"! It's not your fault! Poor little girlie.. ~hugs you and her~

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that! My old boss had a boxer, and I'd bring FeeBee w/ me to work sometimes to play, she was gentle with her :( At least you caught the problem before her eye actually came out and she bled to death. ::Hugs:: Don't beat yourself up over it, you couldn't have seen that coming.

hmmm strange new dog that hasn't had time to adjust to the new surroundings, also having not been tested to see if it is indeed good with little dogs left unsupervised with little dog and subsequently something happens...nope couldn't have seen that coming at all.

Was your sarcasm necessary? Are you going to blame the owner of the dog?

Sure, she should have taken certain precautions - monitoring the animals together until they could be trusted alone. But after something like this, is your attitude even constructive to the OP?

I'm sorry but people's lack of common sense really, really, really irritates me. It's the bane of my existance. Besides I feel if someone is that ignorant to put their beloved pet into a potentially dangerous situation (in which case, surprise, surpise turned out to be dangerous) this comment is in nice contrast to "oh you poor dear...it's not your fault" pity parties that all these comments in this thread are stating, because it is indeed her fault.

I had a similar difficulty when we got an Australian Shepherd puppy to be "pals" with our then 9 year old pug. HUGE mistake! The puppy was just too rough and I was a nervous wreck 24/7. After about a year of dealing with the hyper big dog & keeping them separated, etc...our pug had a major stroke and heart attack because of her and I'll never forgive myself. No more big dogs for us. The Aussie went to a wonderful family that has equal energy and time. I hope your little sweetie is doing well.

Oh girl I'm so sorry! Poor little pug! Everyone else is right, don't beat yourself up over it. It's so not your fault, and you did the right thing by getting rid of the other dog. I hope she'll be ok.
