Yeah, I missed a day of writing but as long as I keep on doing 2k a day, I'll be fine. If I miss another day though, then I'll force myself to catch up.
For IB art we had to make a 3-D piece, specifically a found object. I had no idea what to do until my teacher kept on emphasizing the fact we could model our sculptures off of comic book scenes. And since she kept on bringing it up in her explanation to the entire class and everyone else except me doesn't really care much about comics, I figured she was telling me to make a statue out of a scene from a comic book in her own weird way. Either way, I took it as an excuse to essentially do fan art for a comic I liked, and I decided to go with the manga series 'The Phoenix'. And now on the week it's due, I find out that our statues apparently had to represent something about ourselves. Now if anyone asks me in real life, I'll say the buttons, thread, and knitting needle reflect my minor hobby of crafting, the rubber ducky reflects my obsession with nostalgia, and the manga volumes holding up the rubber ducky Phoenix reflects my obsessiveness with comics/manga/juxtaposed images. But to LJ, know that I just did fan art for my school piece.
Next week is my school's delicious Thanksgiving lunch, as well as the Thanksgiving weekend. If there's one thing I like about my high school, it's the importance they give Thanksgiving. In my old school they didn't count it as a day off and my brother and I wouldn't be able to spend too long at the dinner due to having school the next day.
I looked at a post-Disney Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon. His changing voice actor from a little boy to a full-grown man in his Pro-Deal Depression short is hilarious. I am also getting a plot bunny on a possible comic: Felix and Oswald as drinking buddies in a bar called 'The We Hate Disney Bar' where Felix laments over his glory days in the 20's and Oswald doesn't look like Disney's Oswald. I don't know if there's any sort of plot, but I'm thinking that the comic will reflect the animation history of various cartoon characters, mostly from the silent/golden ages of animation.Of course, I would have to do research and all that, but I'm liking this plot bunny so far.
