BC interior horse rescue attended event on June 5th
It's hard to believe it's June already! Feels like we skipped spring this year! It was really hot on Saturday at the Tranquil Farms Fun Day! I got sunburn because I didn't think to bring sunscreen. I didn't even think about it. ^_^; Whoops. Oh well it was a lot of fun so it's okay right?

We got there early in the morning to set up, and it was really cloudy at first. So I was worried that it would rain. Everyone was wearing sweaters and jackets while setting up tables. Part way through setting up, we realized that we had to go get some more tables from Joey's because the table we were going to use for the hot dog stand was broken. Super bad luck ;_;.
It was a good thing that Joey, our Vice President, lived only ten minutes away. Loading up the tables from Joey's, we found out they were too big to close the trunk. They stuck out the back. Carol, our secretary, assured me it was okay but I was still worried. After all it would be dangerous if they fell out right? I was super concerned. My heart raced the whole ride back. Too much excitement for me.
We also decided to bring Bob, Joey's goat, with us to the event as a mascot of sorts. So he had to ride in the back of Joey's car with my sister's friend. I wish I could have seen it.
So we finally got set up when we got back. It was worth the effort for sure! The display was super pretty! The wind kept blowing it over though so we had to rest it up against the fence so I didn't have to chase it all over. Silly wind.

We had one of our horses there as well! A two year old named Boots. He is a real sweet heart, though he was being a huge brat that day. The pen he was in had mostly sawdust in it, so he was mad that he didn't have any grass. We've spoiled him too much.

Because Boots is so cute we had a unforeseen issue. I heard a lot of 'Please mom! I will do anything for him!" around his pen. The moms looked really troubled by that. So I would like to say that I'm very sorry for that mom. It was not our intent ^_^; thank you for being so patient.
There was another troublesome cutie there, Lorrianne's dog Jill. She kept chasing Bob all over trying to herd him. It seemed like she couldn't understand why he was there. In the end we had to put a leash on Bob to keep him from jumping up on the hot dog stand table to get away from Jill.

Bob really was a pain. He kept licking me and pulling me out of my chair >.> Eventually Joey's daughter came and got him. I was majorly relieved. I was too exhausted by having him there.
Our hot dog stand went well considering hot few people there were. Well after Joey stopped burning the hot dogs. ^-^; I kept teasing her and she got annoyed. Saying things like 'You do it' or 'I can go home you know'. Finally I agreed to take over and she got flustered. She stubbornly said 'One more time.' Really Joey you're too cute!
Ah! We had a farrier come too! She was really really nice! Boots was being naughty, but she still was really gentle and patient with him. I was really surprised how good she was with him.

Mrs.Farrier really was a good person! I wish I remembered her name. I really am hopeless when it comes to names. Next time for sure I will put your name on here. It's a promise!
Speaking of good people, thank you very much Bruce, Lorraine, and Phil. You're the best! Bruce for eating Joey's terrifyingly black hot dogs so happily! Doubly so for asking for more. I think it made her really happy and inspired her to work harder. Thank you and your stomach for your efforts! Lorraine and Phil for inviting us! We had a lot of fun and got to meet a lot of fun people. It was a good experience. Phil you looked so dashing in your cowboy hat! You ended inspiring Carol to keep her's on despite how hot it was. ;)

Lorraine you looked really cool riding Sunny! You two really are a good pair! I'm really jealous ;_;. In short, everyone at Tranquil Farms and those from BCIHR that attended the event, thanks for your hard work. Consider your sunburn a badge of honor and apply your burn lotion with pride!
To those who attended the event, thank you very much for your support. We were greatly humbled by the people who we talked to and their responses. There are some really amazing people out there! To those who couldn't make it, come play with us next time okay? I'm counting on you! Oh and don't forget the sunscreen!
Later days everyone!
