[IC Information]
Character Name: Kisala (or Princess Irieth)
Series: Rogue Galaxy
Gender: Female
Age: Seventeen
Species: Human
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance: Unlike pirates of the boy variety (and as much of a tomboy as she is), Kisala feels most comfortable in a short, light skirt. Topping that can be anything flexible enough that she can move around in. Paired with her attire is always a pair of high-heeled shoes, (which she can run really well in!) and a pair of stockings.
She has short, brown hair, feathered at the back, that is always kept up in some intricate (sometimes space-age) hair clip. She has a fair complexion and a thin stature. She holds herself like a Princess would, and there are some gestures that she makes, if watched closely, that would deny that she was ever raised by pirates. She carries herself with confidence, as if she'd approach anyone.
Personality: Kisala is a pirate by upbringing and a Princess by nature. While she has no qualms stealing the great treasures of the world, she goes out of her way to help people along the way (an occasionally gets caught up in that more then the treasure itself). She is kind-hearted, flirty, and quite the tomboy. Even though she doesn't mind getting down and dirty, she still retains her femininity.
At times she can be hard-headed and stubborn, unwilling to back down when it comes to something that she believes in. Her naive tendencies feed her ideals, and even as a pirate, she thinks that everyone should have a fair chance at life. (And hey, if they don't, she does what she can to help!) When she sets her mind on something, she'll do all the sweet-talking she can to get her way (it usually works well on her Papa). Jaster once refers to her as "more of a handful than any son" to Captain Dorgengoa.
Usually bubbly and happy, Kisala will talk and greet almost anyone she comes by. Everyone is given a fair chance, no matter what they look like or what planet they come from. She keeps herself optimistic, and pulls through in any situation that's thrown at her. She has a strong sense of duty, and will hold her word to the end, even if it's simply "we'll help you." She's very genuine, and almost magnetic because of it. She collects and keeps friends easily, never shy to approach anyone. Underneath her boyish charm, she has a keen feminine intuition, and isn't ever afraid to voice it.
Abilities: Kisala's main weapons are her twin daggers and her high-heeled boots. She can easily unleash a fury of close-ranged attack before her enemy can blink. As far as magic's concerned, she seems to have a knack for Holy and Elemental spells, unleashing such attacks as "Angel's Kiss" and "Starshine." Her other deadly weapon seems to be her Papa's dear smelly sock. She's very athletic, and can preform some amazing acrobatics in battle. Her abilities make her a formidable opponent, and she is more than capable of protecting herself (as well as many others).
One of her finer personality traits is the ability to inspire people. She does her best to keep up morale, even when things are looking bad. She can do it without smiling or pretending to be happy, but rather understanding where her friends are coming from. Her sympathetic nature is one of her strongest traits.
Unfortunately, with the lack of her Papa's dirty socks in Manhattan, she won't be able to preform her normal attacks. The energy that she usually uses for her special attacks is nonexistent. Instead, she'll be left only with her high-heeled shoes (which come with the attire).
Weaknesses: In fighting ability, Kisala's long-ranged attacks are severely lacking. When it comes to firearms, or long-range weapons, she'd rather trade it for something where she can get up close and personal with her opponent.
Being kind-hearted and idealistic are some of her better traits, and her weaker ones. While she'll go out of her way for almost anyone, she's far to trusting of total strangers. When mentioned, she gets defensive of the one in question rather than herself. She can get herself in deep and lose sight of an original mission by going out of her way to help someone. Zegram has been critical of her traits as an idealist when she gets off track, but she's too stubborn to give in. She never can ignore a cry for help, even when there's an outstanding mission. She's even convinced her Papa to allow her to take completely unrelated missions, just because she wanted to lend her aid to someone.
Even when she's turned down, or someone doesn't want her help, she'll continue forward anyway, more determined than before. She can be so stubborn that she won't allow herself to turn from any of her ideals, even if they're unrealistic.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History: Princess Irieth was an orphan, sent away from her home planet, Mariglenn, ten-thousand years into the future. With her was her robot, Ragnar, who left her in the middle of one of the highest-traffic trade-routes in the galaxy. Her birth planet then concealed itself within time/space, remaining suspended for the next ten-thousand years. She was picked up by the galaxy-renound pirate Dorgengoa, and taken in as part of his crew as his daughter. She lived the life as a pirate, seeing herself simply as Dorgengoa's daughter. The normal events in her life were that of any other pirate: stealing treasure, avoiding law enforcement, and drinking rum.
When she was seventeen, her Papa (as she referred him) sent his crew to different corners of the galaxy in search of great bounty hunters. They expanded their crew greatly in that short amount of time. They took in Zegram Ghart, "The Black Wolf," and Jaster Rogue, who, at that time, they believed to be the famous hunter "Desert Claw." Jaster didn't deny it, so the crew went on believing that they had fulfilled the Captain's wishes. During one of Dorgengoa's naps, and after Jaster was recruited, the whole crew crash-landed on the planet Juraika. They needed to repair the ship, as well as get fuel for the Dorgenark. So Kisala, Zegram and Jaster set out to find the elusive "fire fruit" of Juraika. They meet Lilika, who's sister, Miri, is going to be sacrificed to the Star God. Jaster and Kisala insist on helping them, Zegram rolls his eyes.
The recruit Lilika, and head for Zerard to renew their Galactic Travel Visa. Dorgengoa finally reveals his mission to find the legendary planet "Eden," which is said to be filled with unimaginable treasure. To do so, the crew must first find clues to where the planet had disappeared. They follow a lead that mentions an ancient tablet on Vedan, the mining planet. Jaster and Kisala meet Deego while looking for people who might have some clue as to where they could find the tablet. They arrive to see Valkog, in an effort to keep fueling the war between Longuardia and Draxil, take the tablet and leave.
The crew leaves Vedan and heads toward Rosa, Jaster's home planet. They weave their way through some ancient ruins and watch Valkog unlock the secret of opening the pathway to "Eden." On three altars are three images of separate idols from three ancient kings of the galaxy. They then endeavor to find them, with much success, and bring them back to the ruins in Rosa. They fight with Seed, Valkog's artificial human being based on the DNA in the Eden tablets. They're presented with a puzzle, which Jaster soon decodes. Valkog leaves, and the crew is presented with its first glimpse of the ruins of Eden.
They meet Ragnar in the depths of the maze, a robot from ancient Eden. Ragnar reveals that Eden's real name is Le Marie Glennecia, Mariglenn for short, and that Kisala is Princess Irieth from Eden, long, long ago. There is much confusion, so they head for Mariglenn.
They arrive, and the welcoming committee is a horde of an innumerable amount of beasts. Dorgengoa raises the ship's "Big Canons" and annihilates what he can, but not before there's damage to the ship. They're saved, luckily, by a fleet of Mariglenn's finest robots. They arrive to meet Kisala's mother, Queen Friedias, who tells them that Mariglenn is in jeopardy, inhabited by a being called "Mother."
Mother is possessed by Rune, an forbidden energy that gives life to the lifeless, and creates beings known as beasts. Beasts inhabit planets and aggressively attack people without cause or sympathy, and they are slowly seeping out through the galaxy in greater numbers. Freidias tells them that they sealed the planet in a space/time cleft to prolong the inevitable. She says they've been waiting for the Star King to arrive, as he might be the only one with enough power to stop Mother. Jaster and the group agree to confront mother for the sake of the planet Mariglenn. They first head through Ti'atha Forest, where it's said that a trial awaits Kisala.
Kisala's father, King Albioth, awaits her at the midpoint of Ti'atha Forest. He is possessed by Mother, and has become a beast. He confesses that he's waited for her to arrive, so she can end his misery. After protesting, and with a heavy heart, the crew kills King Albioth of Mariglenn. With his last words, he tells Kisala about the Drigellums, the power of the heart manifested, and the only thing that can defeat mother. The group journeys to the center of the Gulza Sanctuary to collect the rest of the Drigellums to create a weapon to defeat Mother.
They continue their journey far passed the Gulza Sanctuary, collecting their Dregellums into the only sword that can defeat Mother, Zeo Synchros. When Mother is defeated, Valkog shows up, and through a twist of fate, falls head first into the Rune, along with his secretary Norma, and his hired scientific examiner, Izel. The crew is forced to bring them down, as well. In their efforts to escape from Rune after its hosts are defeated, the realize that Rune isn't exactly what they think it is.
They return to the Capital of Mariglenn, and despite Freidia's pleas, Kisala refuses to become Queen. She decides to stay on the Dorgenark, and they return to the Wilherser System. On the radar of the Dorgengoa, Mariglenn appears. Their first visit in ten-thousand years since the planet locked itself away in the space/time rift, the crew decides to pay it a visit. They find that it has been waiting for Kisala, and that day she agrees to become Queen.
First-person POV journal sample: This doesn't look like any planet that I've ever been on...
Has something happened here? It looks like this place used to be a great city, and then something horrible happened. I saw some beasts, but... They didn't do this, did they? Oh no.
Is Mother here? Is there Rune here? I thought we saved everyone! Does this mean Mariglenn is in danger again? I hope we just didn't push all the Rune somewhere else.
Uhm... I'm sorry, this is just really overwhelming. If there's a CPU network, so there has to be people here, right? All right! I haven't seen Papa, or any of the crew, or the Dorgenark... But can someone tell me where I am? Is this still the Wilherser Galaxy?
Third-person POV rp sample: It smelled like grass.
A rush of anxiety overwhelmed her when she realized that this was not her court gardens. There were other scents that she recognized, things that were not of Mariglenn: smoke and concrete. It reminded her more of the mines of Vedan, rather than the courts of her own planet.
Possibilities of what happened flooded her thoughts. It could be Rune, it could be the Dorgenark, it could be a kidnapping, or Mother; it could have been an assassination. Could she be dead? Her breath quelled in her chest as she calmed herself down. She rose to her feet slowly, taking in the sight of the large buildings, the street lights, and the debris.
One of Kisala's hands clenched at her chest. It seemed like something else she had to get through-and just as she was the Queen of Mariglenn, she would do this-alone.
