the thesis saga continues

so I already got comments back on the introduction/first chapter, and they were largely positive. my main retroactive freakouts concerned how clear my argument was, which apparently I didn't need to worry about. things I do need to worry about: less jargon. which admittedly I was kind of conflicted about -- stick with the really jargon-y ( Read more... )

Would you like to come stay with me overnight when you get in, rather than going out to the suburbs? It's not like I go to bed at 1 AM anyway :) I'd have to advise you to take at least the shuttle bus or subway to my apartment that late at night, however.

it's okay, I've got a ride back out to the suburbs lined up already. the offer's much appreciated, though, and we should still get together.

I may be going up to New York for part of that (my sister's moving at the end of the month, and I wanted to take advantage of her apartment one last time). Let me know how your schedule looks.

the only day that's definitely out right now is saturday, as my cousin's having his 4th of july party. (from which I might be recovering all day sunday, depending on how things go. if he has both the luge and the margarita machines again, I'm pretty much a lost cause.) I'm getting in late tuesday night and then getting a train back to providence monday afternoon (I think around 4), so I'm around wednesday-friday and probably sunday. naturally, I'll also be working on the thesis, but that doesn't mean I can't take an afternoon/evening off. let me know what you think.

How does the 25th itself sound? Whatever time suits you works for me - I'm leaning towards going up to New York on Thursday and staying through Saturday. I've church on Sunday morning and have vague plans for the afternoon if things for Wednesday fall through.

Alternatively, since your train is around 4, what about taking tea or lunch on Monday before you leave?

since I'd be lugging all my stuff around if I came down monday, wednesday might be a good idea, but I'll get back to you and let you know for sure. also, I just got the invitation -- very nicely done.

Oh excellent, I was wondering if you were going to get it before you left. Glad you like it :)
