an extremely good investment, and a few announcements!
First things first: meltedpeep opened up commissions a few days ago to help cover the vet bill for their cat Bugsy, who's been very sick lately. (odifen is also opening up commissions here, and ryoup is auctioning off gorgeous handmade jewelry.) I asked her for a full-length portrait of Khari du'Arath, who you may remember if you're acquainted with a certain project. Khari is Josiah's best friend and first mate aboard his ship, the Maehriya. She brings a welcome dose of actual sense to the ship, takes care of a lot of the day-to-day details of life aboard it, and catches the things Josiah occasionally overlooks. She's a bit of a perfectionist and more straight-laced than pretty much everyone else in the crew, but she does have a sense of humor, even if it's a very dry one.
And Peep has done wonders with her. I could gush all day about how perfect she looks, but I think it's even faster to show you all!
Which is actually an excellent lead-in to the second announcement!
I'm about to enter my final year of grad school (oh god thesis aaaah), but during the fall, I'm trying to commit myself to having at least one original piece each week to put up on puella_wordii, my origfic comm. Some of these will be longer than others, I don't doubt, but I want to make sure I'm writing something, and that I'm finally kicking my butt into gear for my original projects.
Like Rabbit, which Mith and I are pounding out the second draft of as I speak. ♥ We'll be posting snippets of it on puella_wordii for your perusal and, hopefully, approval, so keep an eye on that comm if you're interested in seeing that unfold!
