I get the feeling Haymitch doesn't actually sleep either. At least, not true sleep.

Snow is an evil, twisted, soulless bastard. Lobotae is demented and horrible. I want to punch her--hard--but not as often as I do with Snow. Still pretty often, though. Ugh, god. Disgusting woman.

It's the scenes with the victors that really intrigue me in this fic; the tension, the semi-camaraderie that will quickly degenerate into flat-out murderous hostility--it's very entertaining and complex. As usual, Johanna is my favorite. (Even if sometimes I want to smack her too. :) )

The subplot about Snow's family and the suspicious deaths is (an increasingly) welcome addition; with the absence of the life-or-death of the Games, the subplot takes its place and creates the same suspense as in THG. Applause. :)

Headcanon Mith and I share: Haymitch started drinking so he could fall asleep. Not much, initially, just a little before bed, but he developed a tolerance, and well.

Lobotae is one of the most awful people we've come up with in a while, I think. *shudders* If you want to show the Capitol as a dehumanizing force, look no further than her.

And I'm glad you're enjoying the subplot about Snow. We knew we needed that source of tension, and we wanted to build on the gathering-secrets bit we established in S&C and show Finnick developing his skills as a spy, and we figured that getting dirt on Snow is one of the riskiest things you can do in the Capitol, spying-wise. Plus, both of us like plots with a bit of mystery. And next chapter is all about the spy shenanigans. *grins*
