WORLD CUP FINAL PARTY POST
I have been so SOCCER SOCCER OH MY GOD SOCCER for the past month -- it was like being fourteen again, in some ways. So strange that it'll all be over after this.
Well, until the international games start back up, again.
I'm still sad about my adorable German boys not making it to the final seriously HOW CUTE ARE THEY kyaaa this squeeing may or may not be brought to you by me staying up far too late last night and browsing through Mannschaft picspams on ontd_football. Especially the Schweinski picspams and vids and everything why are they so adorable they should hug more. But I think we're going to see a good game today, and I will pretty much be cool with either Spain or the Netherlands winning, though Spain might be edging them out sliiiightly in my heart because of aforementioned ontd_football picspams.
But in all seriousness, I think things like this, for all the lulz and drama and CRAZY REFS SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK, show that the world can find common ground, and I think we've seen some incredible skill -- and sportsmanship -- from nearly every team present. And I am watching the special right now about what the World Cup means to South Africa, and to Africa as a whole, how the world gets to see another side of Africa now, and god, I'm tearing up.
Okay, I'm done being a sap. Sort of. I might start tearing up in the comments if they bring on Nelson Mandela.
