No idea. There is fic for it at Yuletide, sometimes. So I'm not sure what counts as popular/unpopular, but I can venture guesses?

...and I'll even put my opinions in whitetext for SPOILER AVOIDANCE.

- I don't have a problem with Roland's epilogue, actually. It works for him, and it still offers the hope of redemption, of maybe getting it right this time, of breaking the cycle. It's a good not-quite-close to his story.
- I don't have a problem with Eddie's death, either! It's heartbreaking and awful, but that kind of thing happens in the midst of battle and Eddie's death punches that message home effectively.
- ...I do have a problem with Susannah essentially getting put on a bus for no good goddamn reason, and of getting stuck with a character we have no emotional investment in instead. Bad form, King.
- ...actually, "bad form, King" applies to a lot of the series starting with Wolves of the Calla, as soon as King took his self-insert thing to its most extreme conclusion and basically tied up all the cool crossovery stuff the series had been doing with the dumbest tautological loop forever. He doesn't Sue himself, no, but it's still lazy and the cop-out to end all cop-outs.
- Speaking of, can we talk about what he does to Flagg and Mordred? Yeah, yeah, realism, sometimes deaths aren't as climactic as they're cracked up to be and sometimes Real Life sneaks in, but they deserved more narrative payoff than that.
- The second book is the best, and the one I am most likely to reread over and over again.
- I will never, ever quite get over what King did to Jake. I suspect he hates himself for it. Good, in my opinion.
- Roland/Susan fell completely flat for me. I do love Eddie/Susannah, though.
- Despite all the complaints I have about the series' final installments, it got into my head. It got into my head in a big way. I don't think it's going to leave anytime soon.

I'm happy for Ghana now that I've stopped crying, and I'm glad they have the support of so much of Africa. It's quite touching. They did play a very good game, delaying tactics in the extra time aside. Howard's a great goalkeeper, yes, and I think America should be buying him drinks for a while.

i quickly skipped over some of these opinions since some of them did seem spoilery orz don't ask me how i avoided that considering that i'm not over with 6th book--but ita about Roland/Susan feeling boring :V idek while stephen king did do a great job with susannah/eddie, he had a bit of the George Lucas syndrome with roland/susan, as in he focused way too much on the idea of making it a "perfect romance" that it comes off as a bit...idek cliché and boring, kind of what Lucas did with Padmé and Anakin in star wars lol DON'T ASK ME HOW I GOT THAT DUMB ANALOGY SOBBB. also, the second book is fucking amazing and is really the start of the series. first book felt really slow imo, and the second one is where everything picks up ;A;

yeah i supported ghana due of them being africa's last hope. both teams played super well and this match shows that you don't need a lot of international stars or to be a traditional big soccer country in order to put up a good fight ;3;

a) Didn't know you read the Dark Tower.
b) Cosigned on Flagg and Mordred. In fact, cosigned on almost all of it (I'm still a little bitter over Roland) but that in particular.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who did not feel Roland/Susan. Frankly I thought she was book smart but otherwise not very bright. I know I'm not supposed to judge female characters but fuck some of the shit she did was damn stupid, and I can buy Roland falling for her on the sake of hormones and youth but he really should have got over it once he had the benefit of age and distance.
