Unfinished story
Well I do not know if anyone reads this series or not but I wanted to take a minute to just write something out.
My favorite novel - a story that I have been reading since 1994 will never be completed. Unfortunately the author - Robert Jordan passed away last sunday. I'm sad - I got to meet him at a book signing and he was a great man, very funny and really a lot of fun and very nice to chat with and just hang out with.
The unfortunate thing being that due to his passing the book series "The Wheel of Time" may never truely be finished.
Currently there are 11 main novels in the series and 1 prequal to the story.
I know that Robert Jordan - or James Oliver Rigney Jr - really planned on writing at least 3 more main books and 2 prequals to the story. It looks as if that may never happen.
The latest book he was working on "In Memory of the Light" will go mostly unfinished. Now I have heard rumors that he was already done 1500 pages of this super novel and he was planning on writing more. I have also heard rumors that 2 days before his passing he met with other authors and handed over notes and had detailed disscussions with them so they could continue to write the book and finish the story.
I do not know how true any of this is. All I know is that a story I loved may never truely be finished.
You will be missed and your contributions to the world of Fantasy fiction will not be forgotten.
