Today is day number 14 of not smoking. I haven't slipped once and I haven't yet ripped anyone's head off. And -- surprise, surprise -- I am actually noticing a significant increase in my standard of living. I feel better, smell better and have more money. But oh how I miss that nasty habit so.
I have a new kitten. She's been around for about a week and a half, but she's still new to me. Her name is Lizzie and she is the cutest thing ever. The other cat, Malice, is about 10 months old now and is about 10x the size of Lizzie, but that doesn't mean they're not friends. Yay cats!
We have decided to stay in this apartment for another year. Both our jobs are nearby and we don't have enough for a downpayment for a home. This place is nice, anyway. After living here more than 10 months, we finally finished unpacking over the weekend. As such, we ended up with a whole new room and this place feels spacious.
I've been at the job for 10 months. It's a challenge, but somehow I am still gratified to be working in a field I went to school for. Otherwise I would be angry about the student loans.
We've been married for one year and nine days. Time sure flies, but I never expected marriage to be this fun. Also -- and I might regret saying this later -- it's pretty easy! Being with the person I am in love with and knowing we will be together indefinitely is a nice feeling. I highly recomend it.
Have I mentioned how much I like North Carolina? Although we aren't in a mountainous region, the rolling hills sooth me. When I drive through the country (as I do every day for work) I feel relaxed looking at the open space and farmland.
