Knightshaye Court Gardens

Xeranthemum 'papierblumen'.

The Kitchen Garden at Knightshaye Court. Not only is it a walled garden, but it is a walled garden with turrets - turrets with conical roofs. (I didn't note whether there were any arrow slits in the turrets, to defend your courgettes against raiders...)

Something growing on canes among the sweet peas. Does anyone know what this weirdly Heath Robinson-esque plant is, please? If looks to be in the same family as White Bryony - Cucurbitaceae - from the tendrils...

Also in the Kitchen Garden, fine borders of dahlias and snapdragons, asters and nasturtiums...

I believe this is the rather unfortunately named Honka, or Windmill, dahlia.

Stunning effect though...

Possibly the largest kitchen garden ever?
