East Window

Detail of the East Window at Cranborne Church.

The work of Alan Younger (1933-2004). The clear quarries ('quarries'= small pieces of glass, generally diamond shaped, often leaded up together to make a neutral ground) have been painted with flowers, birds and butterflies, using only a yellow stain (in imitation of 14-15th century stained glass).

The main panels are quite... dynamic, but not overpowering I think, due to their small size & the clear glass surrounding them.
