The Secret Garden, April

Apr 19, 2024 18:53

The sun was shining yesterday, and within the walls of the Secret Garden it was warm as summer...

The scarecrow, a firm believer in 'Cast not a clout till May be out', kept his coat on.

Green-veined White (Pieris napi). Lots of Orange-tips on the wing as well, but none of them settling to have their picture taken.

The pelargoniums have escaped the greenhouse.

By the large patch of comfrey, grown as green manure, there is a notice instructing "Listen!" So I stopped, and I listened. The comfrey was humming.

One corner of the garden not yet restored.

Outside the walls, the rhododendrons lurking.

The Copper Beech coming into leaf.
