A walk across the heath at sunrise. Fog hanging over the marshes. Not quite a frost: no ice on the puddles. Spikes of gorse and yellow heath grass strung across with webs, beaded with dew.

This used to be Bunnyopolis - Max's favourite hunting ground. Rabbit warrens everywhere. But the rabbit population in the UK has crashed due to disease. Didn't see a single bunny on our walk.
