S'dark when my alarm goes off in the mornings now, and Orion is still in the sky. Not quite dark when we set out on our morning walk shortly after 6am, though the birds are not yet singing. Out in the forest, the heather is still flowering, but the air no longer smells of summer and heather blossom, only of damp and pine resin.
A crow caws.
A solitary roe doe goes bounding by in front of us, near silent save for one hoof striking a flint on the path.
