mini-trip scheduled
I want to try rafting on the Salmon River, and there is a release date for 8/1. (It is a controlled release river.) The release site is several hours from Buffalo, so I'm turning it into a two day fun-fest. Blythe is going with me! We're planning on going to the 1000 Islands region 7/31, and then spend the night in the Tibbetts Point Lighthouse youth hostel. Literally INSIDE the lighthouse. Sharing my name, even. I'm looking into something to do in the 1000 Islands area Friday before white water rafting on Saturday.
Technically, the 1000 Islands area will be a 50 mile drive past where we need to be Saturday, but hey, how often can you sleep in a lighthouse with your name on it? Marley will be with her dad, and Jolene will join Blythe and I. I finally got Blythe enthused about something!
8/2 I will be kayaking the Buffalo Harbor with my lesbian meetup group. I'm certainly taking advantage of having that weekend off work!
I ordered a netbook for Blythe today, and she's going to start "working it off" next week. Employment prospects are scarce for her and her sister, so I'm trying to help a little.
