So, I'm in my Western Studies class and we're watching a video in French. How can we be expected to focus on this? I don't come to this class to read subtitles. Gah! I hate my professor.

Anyway, on a lighter note, I've been cast in two shows. The first is the mainstage production here at Ramapo. That means it's the biggest show of the semester. This semester, it's Lysistrada, which is, for those of you who don't know, a Greek play about the women of Athens who deny their husbands sex in order to end the war. Crazy theory, huh? I play one of the chancelor's slaves and I have no lines, but it's okay because along with the other slaves, we make a fairly comedic team. Plus, I still get credit for being in a mainstage show.

The other show I was cast in is a one-act called I Didn't Know You Could Cook. It's a cast of two people. I play a gay parapalegic who attempts to come out to his businessman brother, who has trouble accepting it. Pretty cool. I've never really played a gay character before (other than the walk-on role as a hair dresser in a high school assembly), so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Plus, I get to be in a wheelchair and see what it's like to be handicapped. So, overall, I'm looking forward to an exciting learning experience.

So, both are very sexual in nature, but I'm glad I've finally been given a chance to perform. Go me!

P.S.- I bought RENT when it came out on DVD and I love it. But the alternate ending is waaaay better.

P.P.S.- I made my own Brokeback Mountain parody. I used lesbians. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL8w5JlJaRA
