The time is starting to fly. It seems like he just turned 16 mo, and now we're almost to 17. He is a delight. My hard work making sure he gets enough sleep has resulted in a happy kid. I dunno if it's just that he hasn't hit 2 yet, but he gets over his little tantrums very quickly.
He said another 2-word "sentence" this morning! Scott was playing with him on the bed and I came to get him to eat his breakfast. Scott said he was going to take a shower, and O said, "Wawa, Dada!" He LOVES taking showers with us. He loves water in general. Keeping him out of the dog water bowls is an ongoing frustration for us both.

It seems like a lot of his words have been replaced by frantic pointing and yelling of "DIS! DIS!" A phase I hope ends quickly. On the other hand, he is constantly learning new words and using them. Forgetting the old to make room for the new?

So, I had $485 from the change bucket that I was going to use for summer Gymboree classes, but then I discovered this play gym thing at the rec center that's a lot cheaper and I don't have to take an annoying class (we tried the gymboree class, and he was completely uninterested in following the class part, but he liked climbing on all the stuff). Just from the small gymboree experience and 2 times at the rec center, I can already see that he's getting more adventurous physically. Like, he is trying harder and harder to get on the sofa. He doesn't make it yet by himself but he used to just throw his arms up there and then give up, but now he's making a solid attempt to get a leg up. And he's finally sliding himself down the slide. Not that I ever thought he was behind physically, but some of the other daycare kids were showing much more advanced climbing skills. Ahem, Sophie!!

He loves our trampoline, so I've got to invest in a safety enclosure for it. $400, ouch! But it is a shame to not let him get up there; while he doesn't actively try to jump off the edge, he teetered mighty close to it a few times. Yikes.

Patty just sent me a message that he fell asleep in the high chair and she was able to move him to a bed. Whoa, he NEVER sleeps at daycare. I always have to go get him when he starts rubbing his eyes, because he just gets cranky and refuses to sleep for her. Maybe this is the beginning of a new trend.

Life is pretty good. Miss me some yoga, but I've been walking a lot in the nice weather, and I go to the gym sometimes. There's this gang of butch old ladies that likes to monopolize the pool, so I need to figure out their schedule so I can avoid them. They are intimidating!

I have all this baby stuff up in the attic. . . I sent loads of it to a friend who delivered in February, and I've taken some of it to Kid to Kid for store credit, but all my favorite stuff is still up there. What for? I really don't want another infant. I guess in my head I'm keeping it for Jenny. So get on that, Jenny. <3
